Things I’ve seen - and a thing I wrote:

In the midst of June descending - there are green things and a weight that has us in its grasp - there are days where adorned is a crown of salt-water-beads decorating sweat wiping brows - there are evenings where a porch-swing-perch is for longstanding lungs to inhale smoke made with sharing in mind, carried in slow drags and chopstick-finger posture - there is a sun to warm maiden-voyage passage spent arm-in-arm and step-by-step together - in the midst of shadow retreating necessity we will be empty canteens and thirsty mouths wilting in the sunshine - and together we will be waiting on a warm night for the wind to stretch out its hand and ask for a dance - to dance free as windswept seeds hoping for a soft place to land!

Cluttered places that I think are very beautiful - and some cats.

Pretty houses and a few lost-and-found friends made along the way.

Photographs that have been on my mind in these trying times. Faces I admire with stories that fascinate me.

(1-3: Lee Morse, 4: Louis Armstrong and his wife Lil Hardin Armstrong, 5: early photo of the Boswell Sisters, 6: advertisement for Mamie Smith and Her Jazz Hounds, 7: Buddy Bolden’s band circa early 1900s, 8: The Versatile Four, an early all Black ragtime / string band, 9-10: King Oliver’s Creole Orchestra)

✨ART ALERT✨ @mfox.artwork sent this sick pack of his mix media art from Denver! We have 10 original pieces for the art auction! Watching this guy's artwork progress has been killer and his dad is in one of the best bands I've heard in a long time - The Pollution - look them up! #pushittrinidad #fundraiser #trinidadcolorado #skateboarding #artauction #november16 Thanks Matthew!!

I’ve finally been making art again (it’s been almost a whole year since I was consistently productive) doing art in an academic setting COMPLETELY ruined my motivation to make anything. Too much comparison to what other people did and feeling like what I made had to fit into specific categories and boxes, the whole thing left the act of creation seem kind of futile. But now I’m taking my baby steps back into the art world - if you’re not following @mfox.artwork you totally should because it’s an actual real account again🤗

Also here’s this thing I wrote:

Paintball-leaded-and-anvil-concrete-blocked-shoe-sized-men find cheer squad metaphors in the sidewalk cracks their noses snoop and search, knowing that is not what they’d better be doing - more or less regal and routinely dalmatian: oh our dearly precious chartreuse sleuths. If only they knew how unconditionally the love for grape drying made sinuses trickle with the bubbling over tar leaks from anchovy arteries…

Ok so if you want to buy some of my art or anything you have what may be the LAST CHANCE. This Sunday I’ll have a whole bunch of stuff for sale because I’m leaving the state by the end of August and don’t really want to drag all my art shit with me for the rest of time. All the information you need is on the posters and also my art account🫡🍩
