Getting to plan both twin sisters wedding, one year apart, it is quite special. I am not only grateful for the trust we were given not once, but twice, but also for the relationship that now goes beyond wedding planning ❤️

Cheers to Gabi & William’s wedding, that brought bright yellows and orange colors to The Lodge at Torrey Pines, with a little hint of golf ⛳️

Some of the most important work of a wedding day happens long before the ceremony starts.

This vow book was written weeks before this couple ever stood across from each other at Ethereal Gardens, every word chosen in advance, every promise thought through ahead of time. I love photographing details like this because they represent the kind of preparation that never gets rushed. Nothing about a handwritten vow happens on the spot.

This is something I think about with my own work too. Trust between me and a couple is never built in the hour before a ceremony. It comes from the planning calls, the questionnaires, the time spent together before the wedding day arrives, so that by the time I am photographing a moment like this one, nothing feels unfamiliar.

If a thoughtfully planned wedding at Ethereal Gardens is part of your vision, I would love to help bring it to life. Reach out through my website to start planning your Ethereal Gardens wedding, a venue built for intentional, detail driven celebrations.

How long did it take for the reception to be set up? Two days.

Day one:
Draping
Stage plus carpeting
Custom dancefloor
Drop off of bigger furniture pieces such as
Custom bars and barback
Lounge sets
Linens steaming

Day two:
Napkins
Chargers
Butter plates
Silverware
Glassware
Table numbers
Menus
Meal cards
Bar signs
Truss and pendants
Lighting
Ah, let’s not forget all the set up of ceremony and cocktail hour

And probably there is more that my brain now is forgetting.

It just doesn’t magically happen, deliveries are scheduled in a way that trucks are not stuck at the dock one after another, the order of items that gets set follows a specific timeline, the teams need breaks for lunch, and each rental company has specific delivery timings that also needs to be taken in consideration because let’s remember that rental companies have multiple events per day. It takes planning and moreover it takes time + a solid relationship with your vendors. That is why we love working with the best ❤️
