When I met Linna #A2813621, I could tell her little body went through a LOT recently 😣Then I learned her story and it made me so sad for her. Linna was found as a stray on August 29th. She’s 9 YEARS OLD A SENIOR😭❤️, and according to her vet exam, her mammary glands were fully engorged and full of milk. The vet noted that she may have recently had puppies 💔 We don’t know what happened to her babies and we don’t know how this sweet senior ended up alone on the streets, or what she’s been through. Her vet exam also revealed: Skin masses on her right rear leg, some about the size of a dollar coin. Entropion in both eyes, meaning her eyelids roll inward and can cause irritation and damage. Mild dental disease. Small growths on her mammary glands that need veterinary attention.

And the worst of it all is that she has to go through all of this alone in a cold, hard shelter kennel. Linna could really benefit from a foster or adopter willing to give her a chance.

🚨This is Blake, and this is his fearful face and terrified eyes 😭. 5 days blast 💔 Blake’s story is one that should touch everyone’s heart and inspire people to step up and help this fearful but sweet boy.

Blake – ID #A2826775

Blake is listed as 2-year-old boy ( probably more like 5-6 )who has endured fear and terror, and you can see it in his eyes. He was found struggling to survive in a lake for what must have felt like an eternity. After hours in the water, he finally made it to the edge, exhausted and terrified.

Good Samaritans called fire rescue to help get him out. But during the rescue, Blake was so frightened, shocked, and overwhelmed that he growled and bit at the pole and other objects being used to get him out of the water. He was terrified of humans and didn’t know what was going on . He was in shock .

Blake has been at the shelter for a few days now and is receiving medication to help him cope with the stress and fear of being in a kennel. When he goes outside, his true personality begins to shine through as he starts to feel peaceful and safe. He is affectionate and loves sitting by your side. He is SUPER potty-trained and LOVES treats! ❤️
Blake’s eyes speak for themselves. They tell the story of a sweet pup who has endured fear and terror.

Blake deserves a better future than the past he has survived. He needs a patient, gentle, and respectful adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to learn to trust and understand that he is finally safe.

Behind that fearful face is an affectionate, very sweet boy who deserves a chance to feel loved, secure, and protected.

PRIMROSE #A2818335 🐾 A 5-year-old female German Shepherd

What a beauty! And brains! Primrose is such a treat! ❤️

This stunning Shepherd girl is almost a bi-color, and she has the looks, brains, and manners to match!

Primrose has the best manners on and off leash. She seems to be potty trained, is calm and affectionate, and showed relaxed, accepting body language around the dogs who were nearby. She can SIT on cue and knows STAY and COME!

Primrose is a wonderful example of what makes German Shepherds such special companions. I trust she will become a loving, devoted life companion for someone who understands the breed and can provide the mental stimulation, physical exercise, and positive training a Shepherd needs to thrive.

Please SHARE, PLEDGE, offer to FOSTER for a rescue, or come ADOPT Primrose and welcome her into your family! She deserves a chance to shine in a loving home. 🐾❤️

Leo #A2114901 has waited in this same spot for 386 days 💔💔💔 He is about 7 years old and listed as a Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix. Leo is almost always carrying a toy around for emotional support, and he LOVES to play. He’s good on the leash, knows his basic commands like sit and paw, and is an overall gentleman. He’s participated in dog playgroups and has a gentle to playful play style. We don’t know Leo’s life before the shelter, but we do know that his time here has been incredibly difficult. He’s suffered through terrible allergies, hives, eye issues, upper respiratory infections, and even bloody diarrhea. This poor boy just hasn’t had it easy. 💔

How much longer does he have to wait? Please DM @pawssion4dogs if you’d like to learn more about this angel.

This is SABLE #A2800768 a 3-year old female German Shepherd.
This girl is so much fun to be with! she is aert, playful and so smart! Plus very afectionate, the whole package. And her ears are pretty unique! all the way up but for the floppy tips.
She can sit on cue, even when asked from some distance, and she absolutely loves to give her paw to her person, if treats go her way, well, she’s always ready to oblige. We started practising DOWN, she’ll get there. And she had a blast fetching balls and bringing them back, she is learning DROP IT fast.
Whoever adopts Sable will bring home a gem of a dog. If you can’t adopt but are willing to foster, please setep up for her! either for the shelter or if you are approved by a rescue, DM if interested.
Please SHARE, PLEDGE, offer to FOSTER for a rescue or come and ADOPT her into your family as a dog companion. I trust she will do wonderful with positive training.

PRINCE CHARMING #A2775390 🐾
2-year-old male Terrier mix

Prince Charming may have a little Boxer in him, and he certainly lives up to his name! ❤️

He is a handsome boy with a soft coat and an adorable face. His charm is a little more subdued, though, because this sweet guy is quite shy. His tail stays tucked most of the time, but once he gets to know you and begins to trust you, he starts to warm up. He just needs a little time and patience to feel safe.

Prince Charming is very easy on the leash and is potty trained. He’s also a bit picky with his food and has only been eating wet food so far. I trust that, once he’s out of the shelter, able to relax and feel secure in a home of his own, he’ll feel more comfortable exploring other food options, too.

He is currently sharing a room with LUNA #A2435393. They didn’t arrive together, but they get along well, and with the shelter over capacity, sharing a room is a good solution. They even share a bed, and seeing them snuggle up together is absolutely heartwarming! 🥹❤️ They can be adopted separately, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if they could find a home together?

Prince Charming deserves a chance to leave the shelter behind and discover what it means to feel safe, loved, and truly at home.

🙏 PLEASE SHARE, PLEDGE, OFFER TO FOSTER FOR A RESCUE, OR COME AND ADOPT THIS SWEET BOY! He could make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the time he needs to blossom.

LUNA #A2435393 | 6-year-old female American Staffordshire Terrier

Meet adorable LUNA! ❤️🐾

Luna shares a room with PRINCE CHARMING #A2775390 (he has his own post). They didn’t arrive together; they simply get along so well that, with the shelter short on space, they are sharing a room. They can absolutely be adopted separately, but how wonderful would it be if they could find a forever home together?

Luna is an absolute sweetheart! She is friendly, affectionate, and very smart. She LOVES treats and sits politely to get them. She is potty trained and loves going for walks. She gets very excited when she first comes out of her kennel, but once she has had a chance to relieve herself, she settles down and walks nicely at your pace.

Luna can be a little protective of her food, so she should be fed separately from other dogs. This is very manageable in a home with proper feeding arrangements.

Otherwise, she gets along well with Prince Charming, who is very shy. Luna helps him come out of his shell, and seeing these two share a bed is simply heartwarming! 🥹❤️

Let’s help these two find their way out of the shelter! It would be wonderful if they could share a home, but they can also be adopted separately.

If you’re not ready to commit to adoption, please consider fostering them for a rescue. Fostering frees up precious shelter space for another dog waiting in the back—or even one still out on the streets—to have a chance on the adoption floor.

PLEASE SHARE, PLEDGE, OFFER TO FOSTER FOR A RESCUE, OR COME AND ADOPT LUNA INTO YOUR FAMILY! ❤️🐾

A loving home could change her life forever.

RIP SUNNA #a2666835 💔 I am SO SO SO sorry you were failed so many times by humans.

Formerly known as Nala at the Medley overflow shelter, Sunna was first surrendered by her owner in February 2025. She was adopted, surrendered again, adopted once more, and later found as a stray. After being involved in an altercation with another dog (at no fault of her own), and even though she did not hurt anyone, her life was placed at risk. She was euthanized October 20th,2026.

Sunna was beautiful inside and out. She was sooo sweet, affectionate, incredibly loving, and had the most beautiful smile. She wanted nothing more than to love and be loved! It’s such a shame this happened. Us volunteers who cared for Sunna and loved her are deeply deeply devastated by this.

Heartbreakingly, someone reached out last night hoping to adopt Sunna, but we learned this morning that she was already gone. It is a devastating reminder of how little time these shelter dogs may have.

There are nearly 700 dogs in the Miami Dade Animal shelter. That is far too many & there simply are not enough safe places for them to go. We urgently need adopters, fosters, volunteers and a community committed to helping these dogs. If you are considering fostering or adopting, please do not wait!! Reach out today. Share the dogs who need help. Their lives are on the line, and they need us now more than ever.

FLY HIGH, SWEET SUNNA. WE WILL LOVE AND REMEMBER YOU FOREVER 😭🩷🕊️

UPDATE: Onyx's been ADOPTED. Please reach back if you are his new family! he has a huge group of fans among shelter volunteers and staff.

.

ONYX #A2821308 — 5-year-old male German Shepherd

Handsome? Truly stunning is more like it! ❤️🐾

Onyx is a tall, elegant boy with HUGE paws! He is a bit underweight and would benefit from gaining around 15 pounds of lean muscle. Despite not being in the best condition right now, his coat is shiny and beautiful.

He is mellow, affectionate, and seems to be dog-friendly.

And treats? He absolutely LOVES them! He would do just about anything for a treat, making him a great candidate for positive, reward-based training. He is food-motivated, alert, and able to focus on his human — all wonderful qualities to build on!

Despite what his previous adopter claimed about him not being able to do stairs, Onyx had absolutely no difficulty navigating the steps to the playground and back to the room. He also handled the steps and ramp in the playpen without any trouble!

This handsome boy deserves a chance to show what a wonderful companion he can be. ❤️ I hope his forever family finds him soon!

Can’t adopt? You can still help save Onyx!

🐾 SHARE his post to help him reach the right person.

🐾 PLEDGE to help attract rescue support.

🐾 FOSTER him through the shelter, or offer to foster for a rescue. Rescues need foster homes to be able to pull dogs from the shelter. If you can foster for a rescue, please reach out — I can help put you in touch with one!

🐾 ADOPT and give this gorgeous boy the loving home he deserves.

I trust Onyx will do wonderfully with patience, consistency, and positive training. Let’s give him the chance he deserves!
