A Woman of Xavier is more than how she presents herself; it’s how she carries herself.💛🤍

For our first Women of Xavier Professional Dress Wednesday of the year, I’m reminded that being a Woman of Xavier means walking with grace, confidence, purpose, and excellence in every room we enter.

It means honoring the women who came before us, uplifting the women beside us, and setting a standard for those who will come after us.

Here’s to a year of showing up, standing out, and representing Xavier with pride!✨

Woman of Xavier, always!💛

It’s been almost a week and I’m still taking it all in. First I want to say medaase to @gmbxula for this opportunity!

I was told that I could’ve been enjoying my summer, hanging out with friends, on vacation, etc., and that I made a sacrifice when I chose to serve the people of the Ekumpoano & Akawnsa Kokodo communities. While, it didn’t feel like one, I’d make the sacrifice 1000x over if it meant touching the Motherland this way.

This trip was so much more than just traveling to Africa. Being able to provide free medical resources and free healthcare insurance to 389 men, women, and children was something I could only hope to do on this healthcare journey. Not only did I have the chance to connect with the people, but I got to work with amazing dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians. Most importantly, I had the time of my life while doing so.

A piece of me still lives in Ghana and I’m forever grateful for the growth, the lessons, the connection, the history, the memories, my fellow brigaders, and the people.

This isn’t a goodbye but a see you later! Until next time🥹

GHANA!!! Words cannot describe the love I have this brigade with my fellows Xavierites to serve in the motherland. In a span of 4 clinical days we were able to serve 389 people and get each and everyone registered for health insurance, and provide annual exams for dental, vision, and pharmaceuticals at no cost.

I’m so thankful for my extended family , making every moment feel like home. I can still smell the jollof as we speak😋

medaase, ghana.

Grateful for a week that opened my eyes and my heart. Through this medical brigade, we partnered with national health organizations to bring free healthcare to rural communities. We were able to service 389 patients across Akwansa Kokodo & Ekumpoano in just four clinic days.

Beyond the work, I’m thankful for the chance to immerse myself in Ghanaian culture and learn from the people who welcomed us so warmly. These memories are truly unforgettable.🇬🇭

Where do I even begin? This brigade trip was truly life changing. We were able to serve 389 people, but the impact goes far beyond the numbers. From the long days to the unforgettable memories, every moment was a blessing. The connections, lessons, and bonds we built will stay with me forever. I am so grateful for this experience and for everyone who made it so special. Thank you, Ghana Global Medical Brigades! 🇬🇭🫶🏾

“If you want to go fast in life, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” 🇬🇭

I was blessed with the opportunity to travel abroad to Ghana this past week for a medical brigade. Throughout our clinic days, I had the chance to shadow and assist physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, and many other healthcare professionals while our group saw 389 patients!

However, this brigade was bigger than myself and meant far more to me than just the clinical exposure. It was a life changing experience filled with learning, community, culture, and meaningful connections.

The relationships I built with my 16 fellow volunteers and members of the community are memories I will carry with me for a lifetime. Everyone I met will forever have a place in my heart! 💚

Finally, to Ghana, medaase! This is not goodbye, this is simply see you later. 🇬🇭
