Meet Detective James Jolly! His last name is the most jolly thing about him. Straight-forward and honest to a fault, he deals in facts and practical measures. Therefore, he finds Edie’s more instinctual approach to detective work, to put it lightly, annoying.

The very talented Michael MacLeod @michael1429 voices not only Jolly but also three other characters — the jovial Inspector Harrison, the ruthless judge Scott Davies, and the young contestant Liam Tinubu. So grateful for Michael’s comedic instincts and for being our resident English accent expert!

I’m delighted to announce that my audio drama Soggy Bottoms will be coming to Spotify/Youtube next Friday, October 2nd! This murder mystery comedy takes my two loves, British whodunnit’s and The Great British Bake Off, and mixes them together into one delicious treat for your ears.

Our story begins when an elderly woman is found dead on a popular baking competition show. Most assume that it’s an unfortunate accident; however, Detective and baking enthusiast Edie Pillai believes that there’s a soggy bottom underneath it all.

Starring Katherine Rogers (@koolbeanskathy ) as Detective Edie Pillai, Michael MacLeod (@michael1429 ) as Detective James Jolly & Various Others, Sydnée Grant (@sydneegrant_ ) as host Mel & Various Others, and Cory Coogan (@dahcoogster ) as PA Louis & Various Others.

Edited by Alexander Gonzalez (@alexgedit ).

Cover Art by Gabbi Soong (@gabbisoong__ ).

It was such a joy to bring this to life with such an incredibly talented group of people. Since this is a self-funded project, it’s just the one episode for now, but hopefully it will get you hungry for more.

For optimal listening experience, enjoy with your favorite slice of cake.

✨UNLESS WATER IS SAFER THAN THE LAND - 19th June 2026 ✨

We raised nearly £1500 for Compass Collective and New Citizens Gateway who do life changing and thankless work supporting people who seek sanctuary here in the UK today.

The night was one of music, films, performances and poetry in solidarity and celebration of people’s stories of resistance. And the strength it takes to find a new home in unimaginable circumstances.

Please check out the work that @compasscollect and @newcitizensgateway do- they are phenomenal charities that help so many people.

Thank you so much everyone who made the night happen and those who donated and came down!

Especially @jusonsin for the photos, all the performers, musicians and speakers - and @chloetaite George and @ninawebby for your endless support and time.

‘Unless Water is Safer Than the Land’ will be back very soon.

“ You have to understand, that no one puts their children in a boat unless the water is safer than the land.” - Warsan Shire
