Excited to share my 2026 conservation journey in the Red Sea 🦈🌊

After successfully completing four major projects in 2025, I’m continuing the mission to protect and better understand our incredible marine life with a new set of updated and ongoing initiatives:

• Update Red Sea Sharks Guide
• Oceanic Whitetip Shark Identification Project 2026
• Tiger Shark Research Project 2026
• Manta Rays Identification Project – Daedalus Reef (2026)

These projects are not just about research—they are about raising awareness, improving species identification, and contributing valuable data that helps protect vulnerable marine species in the Red Sea.

Sharks and manta rays play a critical role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems. By studying their behavior, movement, and population trends, we can better support conservation efforts and ensure these species continue to thrive for future generations.

Every dive, every identification, and every record makes a difference.

Let’s keep protecting what we love 💙

⚓️: SS Thistlegorm
📝 : SS Thistlegorm was a British cargo steamship that was built in North East England in 1940 and sunk by German bomber aircraft in the Red Sea in 1941. The massive explosion that sank her had blown much of her midships superstructure away and makes the wreck very accessible to divers. The depth of around 30 m (100 feet) at its deepest is ideal for diving without the need for specialist equipment and training.

The wreck attracts many divers for the amount of the cargo that can be seen and explored. Boots and motorcycles are visible in Hold No. 1. Trucks, motorcycles, Wellington boots, rifles, Westland Lysander wings, about twenty Bristol Mercury radial engine exhaust rings and a handful of cylinders and Bristol Blenheim bomber tailplanes are visible in Hold No. 2. Universal Carrier armoured vehicles, RAF trolley accumulators, and two Pundit Lights can also be found. Off to the port side of the wreck level with the blast area can be found one of the steam locomotives which had been stored as deck cargo and the other locomotive is off the starboard side level with Hold No. 2.

In 2007 The Times named Thistlegorm as one of the top ten wreck diving sites in the world

Safety stop ✋and SMB inflation performance. The essential part of every dive, every diver should know well this task before performing open water dives.
