🔦 SECTIONS: Stockholm Documentary Competition

I årets startfält hittar vi bland annat »The History of Concrete«, där John Wilson gräver i vardagens absurditeter.

While the famously fine red wines and vineyards of Burgundy provide both the context and the setting for this beautifully made film, co-directors Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw astutely deploy their vérité gaze to dwell on love in all its forms, both within and beyond the vines, focussing on the estates, their wealthy owners, as well as the workers and critics whose lives are so deeply invested within the region’s fabled reds.

Another great opportunity to work with my friends Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw on their documentary BURGUNDY for the Venice Film Festival this year. It’s third one I’ve painted for them. We tried to keep all three posters in the same vein with a traditionally painted composition in vintage styles of the 50’s and 60’s. It’s always a challenge with a big reward. I get to do the title and the copy for the poster as well. They had great success with this doc and they’re on the way to Telluride for the next festival.
