Only 12 episodes in and we couldn’t have asked for a better start.

To everybody who’s watched an episode, gotten around a bit of content, or shown any type of love - we appreciate you.

This concept gives us so much energy.

We’ve met so many good people who happen to play sport for a living and we’re truely loving the challenge of bringing a whole new level of authenticity to athlete-led content.

If you’re tagged in this, hope you’re well and thanks a ton for believing in OFF DAY.

A special thanks to @stepone.life for getting on board so early.

Drawing #15 and #16: @djbdarren + @michaelfbarker

Among other things, Darren Barker and Michael Barker are creatives. They were born on the fifth day of March in 1993—a Friday. Michael was born at 9:30am and Darren was born at 9:31am. They grew up on Wurundjeri Country and currently live in Naarm.

Darren and Michael are 180cm. They use he/him pronouns. Darren has never eaten an eel and Michael has never eaten an oyster (he hates textures).

They both have questions they ask commonly but posts only allow one poll. Whose question should’ve been chosen?

Luckily the audience only sees one take.

In all seriousness these are my favourite moments doing what we do. If you can’t have a laugh then what’s the point.

If you need any ad reads let us know @stepone.life

I’ve said this before but there are some seriously good eggs over in the @nbl digital team.

Finances, security, work life balance, all of these things impacted my choice to work for myself but I really think leaving the people there was the most difficult bit.

Most would think the next step in owning a small business would be to hire more staff, but we don’t view it that way.

Here’s an open discussion we had about why we don’t want to hire an editor. It was actually a very interesting thing to talk about out loud.

I’d be keen to hear others thoughts on this.

If we’re ever asked what our favourite projects are, @hyroxanz will always be mentioned. ✊

The stories, the raw emotion, the literal blood, sweat and tears. It makes the perfect environment for doing what we love.

We’ve got our eyes set on HYROX Melbourne later this year to do more of the same. 👀

What does a content server, a leader, my brother and coffee all have in common?

They all make business better.

This is why I love doing what I do. Telling stories, documenting them, meeting people properly and giving others an insight into athletes that they haven’t really seen before.

Two AFLW game days on the same day, experiencing their milestones, their prep, their families and then of course the football itself.

A big shout out to @rubytripodi who was awesome to meet/work with on the day and equally to @ruby_slysh who @michaelfbarker had nothing but great things to say about (especially the singing).

Thanks to both clubs and the @aflwomens too, who’s YouTube channel is where you can see the full video.
