Dear BLACK UM,

There is no other community like the Black community at the U! I am beyond grateful for every single person in Black UM who believed in me, took a chance on me, those who doubted me, and all of who supported me throughout my tenure as your 2024-2025 UBS President.

This job is like no other to hold the duty and responsibility to be a voice for the Black community in spaces you never thought you would be in. To set an example and a marker for those coming after so that they don't make the same mistakes you did in your journey. Moreover, the constant battle the Black community face to receive well deserved recognition as Black students, Black representation in the faculty, staff, and students in big decision making roles on campus, and the active decline in Black student enrollment at the U. But, even with these odds, I am forever grateful and thankful for my experiences as President. I would not change my experience for the world. It taught me advocacy, grace, remaining optimistic when times are rough, and most importantly, perseverance. This role built and shaped me into the leader I am today.

I am very thankful for everyone who l got to be a part of EBoard with for UBS my past two years. Thank you @destinyalexas and @alexmiller.am for your leadership in my first year. A message to BLACK UM, never stop asking for what you want at the University because they owe it to you. Also, please work together they can stop one of you but they cannot stop 30 of you (stand together), and never be satisfied with the status quo. change is inevitable and we deserve to be a part of that change no matter what is going on in society today.
