“Bold Creator” illustrates making positive and unapologetic change in the world, through the act of creation.

This work was purchased for the Chambers of the Honorable Jamal Whitehead in June, 2023. Thank you @michelledirkse for including me in this meaningful project. #FineArt 🧞‍♀️

smoked glass. incredibly sexy and archetypally 1960s. and 1970s. and 1980s
•
the ‘high table’, was designed by warren platner for knoll in 1966, and yet it was still the unanimous choice for this project where we wanted to lean into the 1980s architecture of the house. the table, with its bronze glass top, tied in perfectly with the retro bronze mirror glass trim and plinths on the bespoke kitchen cabinetry and the bronze mirror detailing on the sitting room fireplace
•
whether bronze or black, smoked glass is always a winner. the vibe it gives spans three decades of all the sexy interiors we love. so slip your best kaftan on and fluff up the shagpile rug, the smoked glass drinks trolley is coming at you 🍸

We collaborated with interior designer @michelledirkse on a spirited refresh of a classic home on Capitol Hill. Our work included refinishing floors, painting, installing new countertops, reconfiguring the living room ceiling, making space of an office, updating a fireplace, adding window seating, and installing lighting, along with trim and finish carpentry. How to master maximalism like a pro. 💪Seattle-ites are famously reserved (ever hear of the Seattle freeze?) and our homes are too. But that’s changing, thanks to a influx of transplants and social media inspiration.

My story about maximalism in Seattle made the cover of the Home Section in the Sunday @seattletimes. The incredibly talented @pulpdesigns, @nbddesigngroup and @michelledirkse shared their tips and drool-worthy interiors.

1️⃣ Don’t be boring

2️⃣ Less is not more, more is more

3️⃣ Maximalism doesn’t mean clutter

4️⃣ Try going big, but only in one room

5️⃣ Play with patterns

6️⃣ Maximalism has a place for art

7️⃣ Find something you love and run with it
