I just celebrated another year around the sun with my T1D and here are some of my favorite (and no so favorite) memories from this past year💛💛💛

Friends for Life with the amazing @cwdiabetes team! 🤠This will forever be my favorite week of the year! It’s a chance to learn and connect with so many people who just get it and make you feel not alone! 💛

The Instinct campaign! This was such a fun experience and I’m grateful to be able to promote something that I genuinely love to wear! Can’t beat the 15 day wear!

Run for the Ring 5K is a great race! All proceeds benefits @cdfdiabetes and Barbara Davis Center in CO!

Frolicked in the mountains with some of my favorite people😍

Lots of hangs with my dia-sista, @trialsonthetrail_ 🥰

Slipstream CO with @connectedinmotion 🌞 Going to adult diabetes camp is so magical!! I’m going again this year, so please let me know if you are going!

And you get to do awesome things like hike up a mountain with the sugar fam!!

Endo appointments - not always fun, but I’m proud of how I’ve been able to manage myself with travel, work, and activity!

Team Together events with the amazing @typeonetogether team! It’s a chance for T1D parents to connect with other parents and feel supported with all the hard work they do everyday managing their kiddos.

Voices of T1D podcast with my bestie @itsraquelbaron (such an amazing host!) and the @breakthrought1d team! It was such an honor. We talked all about exercise and how you can safely use movement for T1D management and ove

Dearest bestie 💕

Today we celebrate YOU… and honestly, I celebrate you every single day. I don’t know what I did to deserve a friendship like ours, but I thank God for you constantly. You’ve been my steady, my safe place, my biggest support, and the someone who always shows up—no matter the miles between us.

It’s wild to think we’re coming up on almost 30 years of friendship… 30 years of growing up together, walking through life side by side through every season—weddings, babies, heartbreak, healing, volleyball tournaments, and all the little moments in between that mean the most.

God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave me you. A forever friend. The kind of friend who stays, who loves deeply, and who makes life better just by being in it.

I wish we lived closer more than you know—so we could cheer on all the games together and do life in the same place—but no amount of distance could ever change what we have.

Happy Birthday, Michelle 💕

I love you so much and I am beyond blessed to call you my best friend. Michelle Pflueger Shaw ✨

Yesterday I was invited to be a patient ambassador to speak on my experience with Twiist!

Being diagnosed just 4 months ago, and deep into DKA, with an A1C of 14, I felt hopeless and like I had just lost the life I had worked so hard to build and then one day, about a month into diagnosis I decided that wasn’t my fate. I stated tracking everything, slowly working my way back into the gym, and putting myself in situations that were once my normal but now terrifying with T1D - going on runs, weight lifting, eating crazy ice cream, road tripping.

I wasn’t allowing T1D to take my life. I wanted to live with it.

Pretty quickly I realized MDI was only going to get me so far, as I already began burning out 2 months in with constant meticulous tracking. It wasn’t until my Endo told me about Twiist that my life opened back up again. In a matter of a few weeks, I felt like I got my life back. No longer having to track all my data and have such a heavy brain load.

The Twiist now did so much of it for me. Better sleep (so much less nighttime lows), better preparation for exercise, less finger sticking, and (my fav) I was able to be so much more present with my people and in my life, due to its predictive analytics and micro insulin dosing!

You would think all this was enough, but on top of all that, I am still maintaining a 96% time in range with a 5.9% GMI (in 4 months from a 14 A1C)

Granted this has taken a lot of work, but Twiist has made it so much easier, so much lighter. Twiist gave me a part of my life back I didn’t know I would ever have again after diagnosis.

I can’t wait for more opportunities to endorse this pump and tell more people about it!

Shout out to my Twiist educators @michelleshawesome and Bill - blessed to have you two in my corner!

@twiistdiabetes - you’re the GOAT

Why Zyia-

Six years ago in 2020, life felt heavy.

I had just lost my brother to cancer, we moved my mom in with us to remodel my childhood home, and was deep in postpartum after having Greyson — not recognizing my body or myself.

Then someone invited me to a ZYIA party.

I came for the clothes (Hello, Light N Tights 👏)…
but I stayed for what it did to my confidence.

I joined for the discount. No big plan.
A year later I had Hadley 💕 and decided to dream a little bigger.

Now almost six years later, this has been more than a side hustle.
I’ve earned two family trips ✈️
It’s introduced me to women who lift me up even when I forget to.
It’s given me confidence I didn’t know I had.

Life shifted again and now I work at the school as a paraprofessional — and yes, the kids (and my students) ask daily:

“Mrs. Tina, is that ZYIA again?!” 😆

The answer is always yes.

It’s more than clothes for me.
It’s community. It’s growth. It’s stability in every season.

And I’m really, really grateful 🤍

My intentions for 2025 were simple: more self love and protect my peace 💛

After experiencing severe diabetes and personal burnout the year before, I wanted 2025 to be different.

Watching this recap video now, all I see is how much love this year has been.

For the first time, so many memories are tied to the diabetes community- new friends, new experiences, and new ways to support people I deeply care about.

Diabetes is a part of my life, but it doesn’t fully define it. I’m living life boldly and I just happen to have diabetes. But in many ways, diabetes has brought me many blessings I’ll always be grateful for, like this beautiful community, purpose, and an undeniable joy for life!

In 2025, I found my spark again and I’m excited to see what this year will bring!

I hope everyone has a beautiful New Year 🥳 Cheers to 2026!

Dear Diabetes,

Happy World Diabetes Day 💙

You have been my partner for 23 years and my motivator through every stage of my life. Last year, was a tough time for us. I was tired and done with the endless 24/7 management, and I lost who I was…

However, the love and support from friends, family, and the T1D community brought me back to life. I needed time to heal and reset to find my spark again. This year, I’ve been constantly reminded of all the blessings you have given me, like community, strength, GRIT, and endless appreciation for each day.

For those gifts, I’m incredibly thankful for you.

I don’t always like you, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you for making me the strong person I am today!

Love, your partner for life (until there is a cure!!) 😆🤘🏻

Everything over the last 5+ months (and especially the last few weeks) pointed to not going on this trip. I questioned it so much. With approval from my surgeon and a big push from my husband (thanks @gmciallella for always being so supportive😘), I took the dang trip, not listening to the outside noise. And I’m SO glad I did.🩷🩷

This Summit was very different from other years as I was missing some of my closest girls attending with me, but it was still just as magical and meaningful. What once was just impulsively signing on for a legging discount during COVID, turned out to be SO much more than I could ever imagine. I’ve never been a part of any other company, and don’t ever plan to be- because this is where it’s at. I had no idea I’d be so invested, 5.5 years later.

Our founders have the biggest hearts and truly know how to make you feel like family. I have never ever been a part of a sales company before Zyia, and don’t intend to do any others, even when my work here is done (if ever). There’s nothing out there quite like it and this amazing Zyia family I am blessed with.

I am so grateful for everyone that helped to confirm attending this trip was the best decision I could have made. There was no way I could miss these moments. Thank you to new friends, old friends and even absolute strangers for all you did to help me (physically) get through this weekend! I was truly surrounded by angels the entire time.

And PS- knee is still doing good and I have been doing my therapy every day! Just a little swollen of course☺️

Bingham High School •Class of 1995• 30 years. Are you kidding me? 😭😂 it doesn’t feel like THREE DECADES when you get to meet up with some of your dearest friends who you shared your best memories with. Lunch with Mylei, Lisa, Malinda & Michelle & then the reunion. There was a lot more looking at everyone’s name tags than at the 20 year 🥸 it was so good to reconnect with classmates that came and we missed a bunch for sure (including Jeremy who went to a sheep sale in Idaho instead 😂). Grateful for the ones that keep in touch, plan our reunions and loved being a Miner as much as I did 💙🏀🏐💙
