FRANCO-JAPONAISE

“He who seeks fame as his chief end, belittles himself and dries up all the sources of happiness.” - my great, great, great grandfather Augustine Austin Smith, a Musician, Educator, Abolitionist, and first president of North Central College, 1861. He spoke out strongly against ignorance and discrimination. He saw the thickest of the anti-slavery struggle and did much to mold public opinion. He said “An institution of learning should be the creator of public sentiment upon all the moral questions of the day, and not the follower…” His journals have inspired me since childhood.
#yakalelo brought joy to millions of people in Africa and Europe. I’m not a rapper, but a student, a teacher. A drummer from Lakeview Chicago that had something to say, and a little rhythm, so I spit rhymes on the album Better World like “Imagine our world at ease, people please, make an effort to bring peace to every boarder it’s what our children need” and “I’m not the first to cry out because I’m fed up, I lift my head up to a brighter day, I challenge the rest to respect all races and religions, and if you never have then you better thank God you’re living”. The hit Yakalelo includes ‘You live the truth you speak the truth it’s simple, but how many suckers out here end up getting busted like a pimple on the face of humanity? Your vanity is plain to see cause you be wheelin and dealing and stealin and illin and cleaning up the blood from the killin, where’s your family? We’re gonna educate em’ all to stand tall, walk tall, talk tall, not fall, how many cultures can I ask you to respect y’all”? That was 98? Like @teacha_krsone said in I’m Still 1 (88’), “..‘m not Superman, because anybody can, Or should be able to rock off turntables, Grab the mic, plug it in and begin”
I still mean what I say, it’s just been more from behind the Drumset over the last few decades. Of course, @eminem is the real rapper, and has been more than outspoken on many moral questions of the day. It’s the biting of my faux blonde hairstyle that I’ve always wondered about… 😂 But for real, drop a like if you respect your neighbors, and their ancestors. #peace #respect #music #history #equality #liberty #oneworld
