Join us FRIDAY OCTOBER 30th @mohawk_place with special guest @prairiepavementmusic for a night of terror on video tape and our spookiest show ever.

It’s the 10th anniversary of our albumGhost in the City and 7th Halloween show at Mohawk Place.

The night will be full of fog and old VHS horror films playing on a real tube TV! Some merch and vhs will be available for purchase as well!

This show is in honor of late artist and friend Mickey Harmon who created the amazing album art for this horror movie companion album. His spirit lives on in Buffalo and it’s not the same without him.

Mickey and the Owls, 2026, oil on 16x20 canvas. Portrait of Mickey Harmon (1984-2025). Who was a Buffalo based artist. He was very talented. Also, very witty and humorous. I knew Mickey for about 12 years. Anyways, during an art event in late 2023. We had a conversation about owls. As a result, it gave me the inspiration to do this painting. #mickeyharmon #owlart #owlpainting #oilpaintingoncanvas #paintingoncanvas

It’s unusual for the Society of Artists to hold exhibitions in January and February. But the warmth that came out of the openings of Viewpoints and LOCI has us wondering if this we’ve been sleeping on something:

From any POV, our opening night of Viewpoints was a success - a crush and a riot of ideas, community, and experimentation - and artists being artists.

Over the course of 2025, four artist pairs made up of an Exhibiting Level BSA Artist and an Associate Emerging from within the Hunt Gallery community worked closely together counseling, informing, provoking and collaborating, leading up this culminating exhibit.

Thank you to everyone who braved the Buffalo winter for such a robust response and to Fitz for opening their doors to the Buffalo Society of Artists!

Enjoy our favorite scenes from the evening and visit the full gallery #ontheblog on the BSA website for more.

BSA VIEWPOINTS is on view through Thursday, March 5 at @fitz_books_and_waffles and is made possible by the @asiwny Creative Impact Fund.

We are grateful to former Community Engagement director Natalie Brown @downtownnatbrown628 for Viewpoints as the original architect for this program and its funding. While she has since moved on to @burchfieldpenney , this contribution is an enduring gift and one we hope to see repeated in new chapters in the years to come.

One last holiday post.
Received a few gifts that truly represent my hometown and my family. A sketch by the late @mickeyharmonbuf, drawn entirely from memory, along with some hometown treats. Also included is a Christmas card/sketch by another favorite artist of mine—my late grandfather, Papa Joe Whalen, featuring the locks in my hometown of Lockport, New York. And finally, four incredibly important women in my life, captured on a beautiful day in Elliciotville , New York.

All the hometown feels. 💙🦬

It's finally up! The @theoldpinkofficial art from @mickeyharmonbuf I bought a few Christmases ago for @delmod
He needed this in his collection.
It’s more than just a piece of art; it’s a Buffalo icon, a nod to his show history there in the '90s, and a meaningful early work from Mickey’s Allentown architecture project.
Eventually, this piece won't be so hard to look at, and our beautiful memories will overtake the heartbreak. 💕
