Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.
Psalms 68:19 NIV

Titled; Blessings

●●●

First came the Blessings,
the crushings,
the earthquakes
breaking mountains
into two. Mistakes were
made as autumn grieves
beneath crackling branches of
ghostly trees while trembling
leaves take flight upon
a chilly breeze.

I miss the fight sometimes...
But the hunt isn't over

So I get down on my
knees and I praise the One
who bears our burdens,
because I remember
the day when I was only a
phone call and a photograph
away from laying my life
down in vain for the
very last time.

I go about it differently now

That's when
Hope found me, more
so a rope hung precariously,
carefully, dangling from
dewdrops on spiderwebs
breed specifically to tread lightly
as the frost writes secrets on
windowpanes at night, when
they were better left behind for
the wolves to find buried
beneath stones, hearth
and bones.

These are the ways of
the wild and bound.
But it's here where I found
that there's a summer sleeping
inside my winter bones
that I can't bare to unfold,
waving goodbye to demons
while standing roadside
out in the cold, alone

So I brought an extra blanket
to shelter my mouth with
so it won't be heard,
to cover up counterfeit slurs
and gray tinged words
swallowed by a wintery haze,
once glazed over with a gaze
that can no longer consume
me in its entirety while
taking it's toll but I know,
this grief inside will
continue to try.

I'm Fallen, not finished.
Hollow, but whole

That's why I twitch
sometimes when I say
a Prayer, when I look to
God to Give me gelid grace
to replace the dash between
the years on my grave,
when I rather would prefer to
fade away from my sins and
to be forgotten, but that's when
Elijah leans in and reminds me
to listen to the whispers
in the wind, 'My son,
you are forgiven.'

But when will I forgive myself?
It's time to ask a better question

All We’ve Ever Known is a song written by Ragged The Poet in 1989. It has been recorded before but this is a completely new version. AI was used to generate the video loop in the post. CapCut was used for the captions.

ALL WE’VE EVER KNOWN

One big horror story, one long night of pain

One day of all these days when we feel the same

Got one cup for laughter, now its full of tears

Got just one thing to say after all these years

Just like Moses on the mountain, just like David on his throne

These days of joy and sorrow are all we’ve known

Heaven stands above us, hell lies down below

You told me that was all I ever really need to know

See your eyes of beauty, now there full of dread

They tell me that the sun is gone and the moon is dead

Just like Moses on the mountain, just like David on his throne

These days of joy and sorrow are we’ve known, there all we ever known

They’re all we’ve ever known

Well I don’t know where I’m going, and I don’t care where I’ve been

I’m here with You tonight, may it never end

I feel the weight of leaving, when I’ll yearn for you again

But I’m here with you tonight, may it never end

May it never end

Just like Moses on the mountain, just like David on his throne

These days and sorrow are all we’ve known

They’re all we’ve ever known

They’re all we’ve ever known

They’re all we’ve ever known

Children Of War- the battles they didn’t start, the ones that they fight with themselves, the ones they must to survive, for all the battles, for all the sorrow, for all the loss, for all the pain.

I weep for them all

Unfinished!
By Brad Hall
8-27-2021

Unfinished lives,
rancid with flies
thrice
in disguise
of a wise
woman’s whiles
so vial;
exiled,
profiled
and convicted without a trial!

Unfinished dreams,
these hollow hearted things,
silent screams
tear at the seams
of me,
of the me
that could of been,
the me
free
of this crippling sin
corrupting my soul from deep within!

Unfinished moments
and moment-less atonements
or momentary postponements
broken down into their rawest components,
are fleeting
for a broken heart left bleeding
it’s faith and believing,
forever screaming
for life to please, just show me a little meaning!

Unfinished prayers
long forgotten cares
as The Devil ensnares
in pairs
these omens,
and free floating unspoken
tokens,
so broken,
Yet here I am, just an unfinished poem!

My birthday!

By Brad Hall

Another year older

and even bolder

as to shoulder

the dreams

once dreamed

on a fairy tale like theme

of magical sunbeams

whose light gleams

on new dreamers

who dared to dream

our dreams

through our pens for a little relief!

Our pens can dream

and they can scream

with all they’ve seen

in disbelief,

stealing our moments like a thief,

but this old soul

is such a kind soul

with such compassion to behold,

as he shines as a light

to guide new writes

from new writers

and highlights them with a thousand lighters,

so bright as we recognize him

We thank you for our tomorrow’s, tonight

and appreciate your light

that helped guide some of us through our darkest nights

fright,

despite our fears!

May God bless me next year

and a subsequent thousand years,

my dear, Tasha

and all that follows,

may your blues fly away on the wings of a swallow

so you’ll be happy and smiling for all your tomorrow’s!

Withering!
By Brad Hall

Her face was, ever so pale,
looking lifeless and frail,
plead to her heart, but to no avail
so it’s time to set sail
on the winds of a nor’easter’s gail!

Withering away,
more and more, everyday,
our love life’s in disarray
so much more
than ever before,
just to settle said scores
that you silently judged me for!

Dancing with that demon, so mean
of addicted dreams
full of my torturous screams
when I was a fiend
and another fix was all I would ever need,
But now my heart bleeds
from everything deceiving me,
but it's still not releasing me!

These days feel so very borrowed,
full of heartbroken sorrows
and lonely tomorrow’s
and fake love aficionados
peddling lies in societies' darkest hollows!

Tap on 'more' to read the poem in the caption

1 Corinthians 13:12 ASV
For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.

Titled: Selah

~~

Sometimes, I'm not fond
of what I find when I stare
inside the intestines of a mirror,
where hidden within, are the set
gins of a raw version of my
poetrys, a shangri la of
snares I no longer
need to selah to survive.

Yet there are times when I'm not
strong enough to reach out for the
fringe of His hem, as I hinge on
the verbs as I pray as I say,
"Lord, please don't let me stray"

Yeah, I have days like these
in every way, Hallelujah

~~

In the Bible, selah is a mysterious Hebrew word that most scholars believe serves as a musical cue or an invitation to pause and reflect on the text.

The phrase "set gins" appears in Psalm 140:5 of the King James Bible. It says: "The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah." In this verse, a "gin" is an old word for a trap or mechanical snare used to catch animals.

Eternally Sinking!
By Brad Hall

Never been so low
hard truths blow
this emotional overload
I can’t help but let it show
as it cuts me at the knees
as my heart freezes;
please Jesus,
the Devil, he teases
these tears releases,
demonic torment and psychological seizures!

Reassurance
becomes self doubt nourishment
breaking down, even learned men
as honorless as deserted tents,
and hell bent
on devilish contempt
at everything that I chose not to repent,
for this dissident
that fate has sent!

No more of loves good vibes,
resonate inside,
this crippling darkness, I can no longer hide;
so much pain, now overtakes me
and desecrates me,
I prayed to God,
but now the Devil takes me!
