POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Three years ago, I took on the challenge of helping build a new national association for MMA in Singapore.

I saw it as a new challenge and another way to give back to sport in Singapore.

Over the past three years, @mma.singapore has worked to build Singapore’s presence within the @asianmmaorg competition pathway — conducting selection trials, sending athletes to international competitions, providing training support, and developing officials along the way. It has been a journey of learning, adapting and growing together.

Then came Nagoya. 🇯🇵

The Asian Games is a huge stage, and seeing Singapore MMA make its debut was already a significant milestone.

And then, history was made.

Tiffany Teo — Singapore’s first-ever Asian Games gold medallist in MMA.

When the final result came, the first words were:

“We did it.”

Behind that moment was a team of people, each playing their part.

A special thank you to:

@tiffanymma — for stepping onto the biggest stage and delivering when it mattered most.

@therealkaixiong @iamdom92 — for the preparation, coaching and support throughout the campaign.

@alvinlaucp, our Team Leader — for managing so much behind the scenes.

@kevisdefinitelybetterthanyou, our physio — for taking care of Tiffany throughout three days of intense competition.

And to the Medical and Support Team from @teamsingapore — thank you for your support throughout the Games.

A special mention also goes to @mighty_mayooi, appointed by AMMA as an International Technical Official (ITO) for the Asian Games. We are proud to see a fellow Singaporean contributing to MMA on the Asian stage.

Our gratitude also goes to everyone who has supported us along the way — our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, sponsors, partners, supporters, families and friends. Every bit of support mattered.

Singapore MMA has made its Asian Games debut.

And we came home with GOLD. 🥇

Grateful for the journey, grateful for the people who made it possible, and very proud to have witnessed this historic moment for Singapore MMA.

Majulah Singapura. 🇸🇬

For our final Officials spotlight, we recognise the officials preparing to take their place at Aichi–Nagoya 2026. 🥋

Over the past weeks, we’ve introduced the individuals entrusted with upholding fairness, safety and the highest standards of competition on the Asian Games stage.

With the event beginning in just a couple of days, the preparation is nearly complete. To all our officials — we wish you the very best as you represent the sport on one of Asia’s biggest sporting stages.

𝐉𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬

In a time of acute global turmoil, with immense human suffering across the world, there is much for us all to be thankful for in this city-state we call home. Yet beneath the glittering facade lies the harsh reality of gross inequalities, the intense rat race, and entrenched societal definitions of, and pathways to, “success”.

Our inaugural 𝐉𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭 is a celebration of those striving on the margins: those striving for a more compassionate, egalitarian, and inclusive educational system; those nurturing artistic communities by creating spaces where interdependencies can flourish, and liberate individuals from unforgiving market conditions; those pushing our conceptions of food and heritage beyond tourist-driven caricatures; and those who, despite seemingly impossible odds, continue to push us to greater sporting heights.

Thank you very much for the warm hospitality of Uzbekistan! I have fallen in love with the unique culture, delicious food, and the incredibly friendly and welcoming people of this country. Every encounter, every flavor, and every scene has made this journey truly unforgettable and precious.

During the seminar, my only small regret was that I couldn’t communicate directly with the students in their local language. I often wondered whether they were able to gain enough knowledge and inspiration from my sharing. However, I also saw their attentive eyes and sincere interactions, which reassured me that the exchange of ideas can transcend language barriers. If given the opportunity, I would love to continue sharing and learning in a way that feels closer to them.

Once again, thank you for all the warmth and inspiration this land has given me. I look forward to the possibility of returning someday to continue this cross-cultural conversation. @asianmmaorg @sruzimatoff @gorillaenergy.uz
