Week 7 reminded us why we keep coming back. 🏀🔥

The wind was doing its absolute best to become the sixth man 😂🌬️ A couple of shots definitely got a little help from Mother Nature, but for the most part, the buckets were coming the old-fashioned way.

Harley was shooting LIGHTS OUT, and newcomer Melvin Chan wasted no time introducing himself — getting above the rim and throwing down a few dunks that had the whole court buzzing. 😮‍💨✈️

And another great sight: Kai was back on the court after his injury. 🙌 For someone who’s been away from the game for a while, he was looking sharp out there. There’s always something special about seeing someone work their way back and finally get to hoop again. Gotta love a good comeback story. 💪🏀

As always, once the games started, everybody suddenly acted like basketball was their full-time job. 😂 Every possession mattered. Every call mattered. Everyone competed with that raw passion that only sport seems to pull out of you.

That’s one of the things we love most about basketball.

For a few hours, you forget everything else. You’re competing. You’re laughing. You’re frustrated. You’re celebrating. You feel alive.

Then the games finish, the intensity disappears, and you’re standing around talking with the same people you were just battling with five minutes earlier.

Those are the memories we’re really creating at RISE Runs. Not just the shots, dunks and wins — but the people we get to share them with.

You play for the game. You stay for the community. 🏀❤️

Week 7 in the books. Two Saturdays left in Season 2. 🔥

Last Saturday was a classic RISE Run: close games, evenly matched teams and nobody getting easy wins. We even had our fastest race to 15 yet when apparently everyone on the court decided they were Steph Curry. 😂 Three after three after three. 🌧️🎯

Big welcome to the new faces who pulled up: Alex, Frank, Harley, Michael, Miles, Justin and Nick.

Shout out to Kai, Dosh, Jeffery and the rest of the pack still right there; Louis’s 23 overall wins is nowhere near safe.

Come for the basketball. Stay for the community. 🚀🏀 See you Saturday!

When you have 5min to think about your 1min pitch! This week I decided to relaunch @xstaticsunsets . Being in a good place within myself and seeing the growing need and market for alcohol free fun and connection it feels like the right time.

Top of mind is how I make Xstatic sustainable and most importantly ensure it sustains me. To support the public events I have the vision for wellness offerings for companies and elevating staff parties with more fun and less alcohol.

The Harvesting Capital event by @ozharvest Ventures and @10x10gives Philanthropy seemed like the impromptu opportunity to make the announcement.

I am prepared to self fund a relaunch, but if anyone does know a wealthy person who likes to party and may have had to deal with addiction please point them my way. The social impact vision is big and needs investment.

It feels good to be excited again to create epic experiences and dance floors 🕺

Thank you for capturing the video Anf Chans

Season 2 just found another gear. ☀️🏀

The sun was out, the court was loud, and nobody came to coast. Teams went at each other all afternoon, with two games needing tiebreakers because nobody wanted to give an inch.

Then came the surprise.

Coach Elliot, one of RISE’s own, is sitting on top of the Season 2 Week 2 wins tally Right behind him is Kunga, the newcomer who stumbled across the run, happened to have his basketball gear, and decided to lace up. Sometimes the best stories start like that.

Branko brought his usual infectious energy and came ready to win. Jeffery was steady as ever, reminding everyone why the regulars are never easy work.

Then David, another new addition to the community, stepped up and buried a game winner that sent the whole court into celebration. One shot, instant noise, and a new name everyone will remember next week.

That’s the beauty of RISE Runs.

Familiar faces. New blood. Big moments. Neighborhood stories being written one Saturday at a time.

Come for the basketball. Stay for the community.

See you all next Saturday.

The community behind the communities - The Conveners!

Thank you to each one of you for building spaces that are bringing people together and helping them in their own ways!

Today, at our first meetup it wasn’t just a room of ‘hey how’s it going’ but about ‘Hey, really tell me how’s it going!’ This room had the energy, the passion, the empathy and the resilience it needs to show up everyday while connecting 100s of people who wouldn’t have met without them. So a big THANK YOU!

Season 2 is officially underway. 🔥🏀

The intensity was there from the opening game, but so were the good vibes.

Season 1 champion Lee is back looking every bit the king👑 to beat, while Dosh is right on his heels. But this season has some new challengers. Louis and Duke have arrived, and they’re already making it clear they won’t make the race to the top easy.

We also loved having fellow community builders ANF of @migrantwealthbuilders pull up and join the runs. It’s always great connecting with people who share the same passion for bringing people together.🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

That’s what we love about RISE Runs. Every week brings new stories, new rivalries, and new friendships.

Play hard. Compete to win. Stay for the community.

See you all next Saturday. 👊

Success is easy to admire.

What we don't often see are the sacrifices, self-doubt, setbacks, and quiet moments that happen long before anyone notices the wins.

In this clip from my conversation with ANF, we talk about the side of success that rarely makes it onto social media.

Maybe success isn't about having it all figured out—maybe it's about continuing anyway.

What's one thing people never see behind someone else's success?

Community Capital Exchange by @migrantwealthbuilders brought together Southeast Asian and migrant founders, investors and professionals for a new kind of networking built on trust, generosity and shared growth.

Through its “Give x Ask” format, the event created space for meaningful connections, practical support and stronger community capital beyond the traditional playbook.

LaunchStory was glad to attend and capture a glimpse of this community-driven exchange.
