Saw @mikethewallpaperguy fire back at a comment criticizing him for having expensive wallpaper on the floor, even when the video was about how meticulous it is to hand trim expensive wallpaper. And it got me thinking. If your client has an issue with the wallpaper being on the floor, then they may have an issue with it being on the wall. Because professionals have been here before and they know what works. We are used to subliminal criticism while installing, but this one is funny… Wallpaper is going to touch the floor even when using a table. The roll starts on the floor when I unroll it directly onto a table. Usually the floors I’m working on are brand new, or I have dropcloth down. Either that or provide us a 10ft table to work on! If you see your installer trimming the paper on the floor, mind ya business! And no my back doesn’t hurt but it will tomorrow!

When I redesigned the footprint of this home, the very first move was transforming the primary water closet into a true powder bath by reworking the entry entirely. Powder rooms are the designer’s ultimate jewel box moment — a chance to create maximum impact in the smallest space. In just a few square feet, you can take risks, layer personality, and splurge on the details that make a room unforgettable. The lacquered pagoda mirror was completely non-negotiable. From the beginning, I wanted this space to transport you straight to 1960s Palm Beach — glamorous, playful, and just a little mischievous. The monkey wallpaper brings all the drama: a little bad behavior, a little Addison Mizner fantasy, and all the ingredients for the perfect Palm Beach evening. And the painting of The Colony Hotel is the cherry on top. It was a wedding gift, which makes it especially meaningful to us. My husband and I were married at The Colony, and we took our wedding party photos beneath the clock tower on Worth Avenue. The best interiors always tell a story. They create a sense of escape, nostalgia, and transportive magic. And sometimes, the smallest rooms are the ones that leave the biggest impression. #KTRDesign #Stiritupvilla
