Wondering where that awesome music 🎶 was coming from this afternoon? It’s not every day we hear sounds like these are the library! 🔊

@mikivalethemc was keeping the energy up in advance of @tog_ae’s 7th annual Shakespeare Call and Response performance at the #sandiegocentrallibrary courtyard. For more info, check out our calendar. See link in bio.

Last one of the summer is in the books with two of the most wonderful San Diegans, @apdavisionary and #MoisesReynoso. Look at all these magical humans who have shared their art, their perspective, their light all summer long??? So many people collaborated (onstage, backstage, and in the audience) to create juicy and generative conversation with each other. Thank you for bringing laughs and love and connection to San Diego all summer long. ☀️ Phots by @betosotophoto and @richsoubletphotography and I’m pretty sure @huitzilli14 took one!

LAST WORD UP! OF THE SUMMER IS THIS FRIDAY 🌞 One of my favorite parts of this summer was getting to go to @theoldglobe tech center all the time to meet with some incredible folks in production, to welcome featured San Diego artists into the props warehouse to just WANDER and find items that speak to them, talk through the theme and ideas they want to express in their show and have the brilliant design minds of our tech hosts go to work in support of community members’ visions. Hours wandering through a hot summer warehouse trying out chairs, playing with parasols, riding a surrey, hearing the stories of how everything was made and what shows it’s been in, and exploring how to tell stories through props and set. I’M TRYING TO EXPLAIN IT AND I’M NOT SURE IF IT’S CLEAR, but basically a bunch of San Diego artists from a bunch of artistic disciplines got to design their own set for their “Word Up! Live” program with the creative collaboration of people in The Old Globe props department (and their whole warehouse and craftsmanship). 🙏🏼 It was joyful, and totally unique, every single time. OK, did I explain it clearly? Do you get what happened? Comment an emoji of a PROP to confirm….. (lol)
