“Like the excess tissue that accumulates around our midsections in the off-season…” 🤌

We stopped stitchin’ and went out for celebration burgers and Diet Dr. Peppers yesterday after reading @bikepackingcom’s product review of the Love Handles written by @morajez and @milesarbour. They’re not only gifted writers, but I can tell you they are 100% independent voices, and I’ll for sure be taking into account the feedback. 🙌🎉

It’s a heckuva thing to toil at a craft, create a thing, stress about every detail, put it into the world, and then have super pros who have tried everything say nice things about it to the world. THANK YOU @bikepackingcom !

I was especially stoked to see so many SCSW super friends get mentioned in the article. I’d be nowhere without the likes of @kowa_bunga, @onermaa, @hannahmsimon_ , @drlovehouse, @roadsandwich, @windlecommarandy and @dr.e.musictheory putting the gear to the test and spreading the SCSW gospel.

Gratitude to so many who keep supporting and helping this dream live on!! And thanks to @brettmburton and @freckledferrett for helping me make these. 🫂

ALSO, @neil_beltchenko included the Love Handles in a recent viral video on the UToob. Was blown away to hear the legend himself say the Love Handles is the rack system he uses the most, even on the Colorado Trail. It’s all very mind melting. 🙏

Lotsa Love Handles IN-STOCK🚀

Alberni Bam Bam 💥 Vancouver Island, BC 🇨🇦

Had a very fun time bikepacking on Alberni Bam Bam for one week! Fav part was the southside with a fun chunky descent into Cowichan Lake. Taking all the ferries and boats were also really cool cuz I don’t do that often on bike trips. Also so many beautiful lakes!! And so many delicious berries!! (just had to keep an eye out for the black bears)

Toughest sections were getting out of Alberni cuz of the rain and steep climbs. And it was tricky finding a way around the closed access gates to connect to Nainamo. But it was nice to find some community singletrack trails and ride on rail trails to town instead.

Would def say this is more intermediate+ due to the remoteness, climbing and terrain. (had to carry 3 days of food for first half of route) If this sounds like your jam, recommend adding this trip to your bucket bikepacking list.

Full route deets are on @bikepackingcom and thanks @milesarbour for creating the route and giving tips before the trip!

Texada Ridge Runner w @slowcoastqathet!!!

We spent the weekend on Texada with a group of about 60 other folks. We rode the ridge runner route, swam in bobs lake (I was too 🐣, and just lizarded in the sun 👶🏻🦎), & camped together after a family style dinner. We also got the opportunity to learn about food preservation with the Texada Agriculture Group & do some shashiko style stitching with @aubree.mcatee 🫶🏻

The Qathet people were so kind & welcoming, I hope to spend more time exploring this region! Well worth a couple of ferries 🙂

Thankyou Emily, Miles and the whole dang team for the organizational power and hospitality!! 🙏✨🧡
