Ready to unleash myself in witching season… many new things are brewing. 🖤

Despite it all,
the seasons have still changed.

Despite it all,
I’m still falling in love,
watching my friends kiss and cry,
and kiss and cry.

Despite the bite of autumn coming in,
and the weight in my body
from running circles around summer,
and my hair that seemingly grows
an inch each night

Despite it all,
new people walk through my life.

They turn my burnt cheek
towards the window for a fresh breeze.
They breathe with me.
They tell me off when I stop.

Despite it all,
I’ve moved house yet again.

My granny warned me
about the restlessness of the women in our bloodline,
constantly wrestling
with a disobedient shadow.

I get to watch the leaves turn
from my window now.

Perhaps even open it
and let them blow in
and onto my bed.

Or maybe we’ll swap.

The leaves can take my bed,
and I’ll go to the soil.

Despite it all,
the seasons have still changed.

Pinching myself (and sobbing) looking at these photos and writing these words. The Dutch House, my family home, where I was literally born and raised has been a place with many many memories and gatherings. As a family we would always sit round the table for dinner - its a time we would connect and choose to be with eachother, even if the meals were rushed, we were together…
We had many parties growing up,
celebrations,
birthdays,
lit lots of bbq’s,
fed many people,
hosted many workshops…
Then we started to grow up, my sisters moved out, my parents separated and the house became veryyyy quiet.

5 years later mum moved back into the family casa, and boiiiiii was she determined to finish off the long life project of our family home and bring da energy backkkk! Room by room, year by year it is growing into the space she has aways dreamed of.

In this time I was getting lost, reflecting, dreaming, exploring, meeting, feeling, finding and gathering. And it came apparent to me that no matter wherever my mum and I are, separate or together we will always connect to people and have a deep desire to bring them together.
It also became apparent to me that all these bbq’s, parties, hosting, celebrations, workshops and some pretty painful years in-between have been leading to something way bigger.

This year birthing Bloem feels like the beginning of that ‘something bigger’.

As mum has always said, we are only custodians of this land - and in this lifetime this land, our family home, The Dutch House, it needs people as much as its for people.

So when we invite you to the table, we invite you to our table, the families table. When we cook we are cooking from remembrance, from primal remembrance and from what we’ve always lived and breathed.

Gathering around food is in our blood and in my heritage.
Bloem tables isn’t just a supper, it’s a time we choose to connect and be with eachother🧡

Feeling met and seen by so many women simultaneously in true presence who share my experience of the world, is so powerful. Like little mirrors to each other. When there is no expectation on the other person to meet the other with the same affection or even desire, something magical happens…

All my life I have felt pressure for perfection. To be the one who fixes everything. Demanded of emotion. Contracted. Caged. Yet here I expand. Through a softening of presence and slowness, thus the wild woman is unleashed. She spreads like wild fire, burns bright like the sun and shines like the moon on everything she lays eyes upon. I am learning how to know her…but never tame her. I am her, she is me. 🖤”-

this week was so wild!! 🌿🦁

While we were at @medicinefestival, three cosmic events unfolded overhead, each one seeming to echo the next. Somewhere between the magic, the music, the laughter, the tears, and the dancing, I shed an old skin and carry a completely new version of myself!!

Finally to my sisters and family, thank you for witnessing me so completely. I’ve never felt so seen. My heart is overflowing. ♥️🤠

There is a particular kind of alchemy in women holding women.

A tenderness so profound it feels almost primordial - the quiet dissolution of every defence, every performance, every demand to be anything other than wholly, exquisitely alive.

Here, love is not possession.
It is witness.
It is reverence.
It is the sacred privilege of being known without being diminished.

We hold each other’s softness,
our ferocity,
our becoming.

And in the architecture of our arms,
I remember:

we were never meant to survive this life alone.

Sometimes sisterhood is simply four souls,
intertwined in the same breath,
saying without language -

I see you.
I adore you
I am here.

And somehow,
that is enough to make the world
feel briefly, unbearably beautiful.

Delayed appreciation post to @sistalandfest 💜 Amazing @nikitainfilm allowed me to bring Period Kitchen when I contacted her less than a week before the start asking if I could have a stand ❣️

I met soo many amazing humans and had incredible conversations that have and will continue to guide where I take this new venture.

It was a very special weekend that I will be forever grateful for 🥹💜

Brighton PRIDE Parade 2026!

SO much joy!! An incredibly fun and celebratory day dancing together as allies & queer community through the streets of Brighton!!! 🌈🌞💗🌟🏳️‍🌈🦋

We applied, fundraised and worked as a team to make it happen! Thank you so much to everyone involved!

From our parade application:

We believe Ecstatic Dance Brighton is an ideal entry because we embody the parade’s message of unity and liberation. Our entry is being organised specifically because our community members asked for it, they want to take the joy and freedom they feel on our dance floor and share it with the streets of Brighton!

Dance is a universal language that transcends labels. Our message is simple: dance unites us all. We want to demonstrate that when you strip away judgment, you find a community that is vibrantly diverse and fiercely supportive.

Our community is known for its exuberant, creative expression. A group of people dancing with total freedom sends a powerful message of health, happiness, and queer joy.

Our participation represents a grassroots movement. We aren’t just a business; we are a collective of Brighton locals who believe that everyone deserves a space to be their truest self, both on and off the dance floor.

We create a sober sanctuary, as much queer community centres around bars and clubs, we provide a sober drug free space where the only thing that matters is the connection to the music and one another. 💓🌈🪩🍃
