Pfew! Dorothy we are not in Hoi An anymore. I arrived in Saigon 3 weeks ago and I’ve lived a lifetime.

This is how I’m describing the experience:
Tinder + Shark Tank + Squid Game. Investment Games.

It’s like business school, but not. The content from the master classes, speakers, and boot camp 24-48 hour challenges are great. I’ve also met some great people and we are working hard and playing hard as well. I’m enjoying using my brain again, and eating at different places. There’s a lot of beer, not too much exercise, and not enough sleep. I’m feeling good though and I’m trying to soak in all the good bits, and ignore the noise. Not sure what the future holds but I’m enjoying the ride...

I’m especially thankful for my friends @nat_smol @feverformore and cousin @mimivu for helping to keep me laughing and grounded.

We spent Christmas 2012 here in Viet Nam, and its kind of fun to be back in the city with all the decor and holiday music. I heard Last Christmas for the first time last night, so I know it’s almost here. 🎄

We spent our 18th wedding anniversary apart, but I’m looking forward to reuniting in Da Lat on Christmas Eve. ❤️

Saigon reunion in H-Town:

1) Karim is one of the most intelligent and successful people I know, but that’s not why he’s one of my nearest and dearest friends. He’s eternally cheerful, talking to strangers in elevators, asking security guards how their day is, opening doors for small children — like some kind of psychopath who doesn’t know stress or mortality. Consequently, I smile more and complain less when he’s around. Also, every conversation with him equals two semesters at Harvard Business School.

2) Mimi runs around the world literally saving people from human trafficking. She’s like Liam Neeson with a very particular set of skills, skills she acquired over a very long career — like finding hip fried chicken joints in Houston. But also probably breaking knee caps.

Diwali 2020 was wholesome 🌸 And as sad as it is to be so far from family and home in the festive season, I’m also very happy and thankful for the friends - old and new, who showed up, made an effort to wear colour, stayed until the bar-after shut down and sent back edited pictures.

Full table. Full heart. And happy to be inching closer towards what I want to be - hostess with the mostest ;)

Closed the weekend with the gin fest with one too many amazing cocktails. Let the new year begin 🎉

MY HAPPY DISH VOLUME 2: MIMI VU

‘My Happy Dish' is a series of conversations between Pizza 4P's and interesting individuals living and working in Vietnam. Through these conversations, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, revolving around their favourite dishes at Pizza 4P's.

For the second volume, we had a chance to talk with Mimi Vu from Raise Partners. Besides sharing with us her Happy Dish being the Broccoli and Sausage Pizza, she also shared more about her mindfulness journey and ways we can find our own happy moments. You can read more by visiting the link in bio.
