[part of the 888 - anniversary series of events. Căminul Subcultural - 8 years]

Slow Rooms is an attempt at bending the usual shape of a night out.

On Saturday evening, at the height of our 8th anniversary, we’re putting the usual priorities on hold and building a room around the simple act of listening. Music by our friends from @mindfares will unfold slowly and at length, moving through ambient and the stranger, deeper ends of the electronic spectrum, without much concern for getting anywhere in particular.

The room will follow suit. Low lights, comfortable places to sit and lie down and a light installation conceived especially for the occasion will make the surroundings as much a part of the session as the music itself. Come early, settle in and allow your eyes and ears some time to adjust.

There’s no particular requirement to stay awake either; those inclined to take the slow part seriously are welcome to sleep over. Bring a blanket, or even a sleeping bag.

Float Radio is a collaborative project built on pacing, restraint, and a careful attention to detail. Baba likes music that knows when not to rush. With an undeniable pull towards the aquatic, their sound drifts, settles, and finds its place naturally, never forcing the moment, always trusting the current.

Startrec is many things: synth nerd, sci-fi obsessive, psychedelia enthusiast, collector of sounds both restless and sleepy. Baba simply thought the forest should meet him. Find a patch of shade, stay a little longer than planned, and let the rest sort itself out.

Jill Sans seems to collect worlds more than genres. Baba finds that much more interesting. Ambient, leftfield textures, hypnotic techno, browser synths, video game soundtracks and beautifully odd ideas all end up speaking the same language. Turns out curiosity sounds pretty good.

Some records ask you to dance. Others ask you to listen a little closer. Diana Driș never felt the need to choose between the two. Baba certainly wasn’t going to. Her selections balance depth, texture, and raw organic rhythms with the kind of ease that makes it all feel effortless.

Andria Obor knows better than to rush a good story. Baba settled in from the very first record. Patient grooves, subtle shifts, and just enough mischief keep things moving until you suddenly realise the dancefloor has quietly become your favourite place to be.

Baba’s special musical treat spred over 3 stages and a multitude of generations, just like a family.
Respect for the elders and trust in the youngsters are the core elements in Baba’s vision for a healthy scene and a bright future.
See you in the forest!
