WHAT -- THIS -- WEEK
🌞🥰

A few of my favourites tagged me in what this week, and I love this little catch up.

📚 I've recently read What Storm, What Thunder by Myriam J.A Chancy, which has left me in a slump! I'll also soon be reading Twilight Garden by Sara Nisha Adams, (M)otherhood by Pragya Agarwal and finally finishing Friendaholic by Elizabeth Day :))

🖥 I recently watched Inside Man on netflix, and I looove these mystery crime dramas, but it was even more interesting cos the investigator was on death row in the US. I also watched Queen Charlotte, which I really enjoyed, and I will most definitely be watching season 4 of Never Have I Ever :))

🎧 I've been catching up with the How to Fail podcast, which is always so insightful and interesting, even if I don't know much about the guest :))

I've tagged a few friends to take part, but would love to see more people join in. What are you reading, watching and listening to this week?

Remembering 1971
By: Tasnim Rahman

-
Salaam Everyone! 💚
Rajab ~ February month’s read is on ‘Remembering 1971’ by Tasnim Rahman.

This month’s read hit home of course. Within the first few pages of reading the stories inside of what others had shared, I ran to my Ammu (mother) and asked her how her parents were impacted by the Liberation War. Since she was just a baby at the time, the stories she had were all from her parents and older siblings, stories that could melt your heart and fill it with hope. I’d have never known what my grandparents had gone through if I hadn’t asked, if I hadn’t come across this book reading the REAL life stories and memories shared by others. ❤️💚 A special shout-out to the author @mindintheskies for curating this and sharing the many voices that deserve to be heard and acknowledged; women definitely are the War Heroes (Heroines) whose stories need to be told and celebrated more.

I won’t give away anymore of what to expect as I want you all to read it and I’d recommend it everyone, Bangladeshi or not! Go get your copy, it’s a short read and it’s a brilliant Master’s thesis that got published!

——
The book club session for this will be held around mid-March 2022, in time for Bangladesh’s Independence Day (26th March 1971) so come through, share your stories and we look forward to seeing you in a few weeks Insha’Allah!

The book club is open to women only.❤️
