So much has been happening in the last 8 weeks. I am beyond grateful to be at this stage in my career where I am having consistency in my bookings.

Recently I was invited to live paint for the Early Childhood Investment Corporation. While painting I teared up because one of the speakers mentioned how crucial the first 5 years of life are for a child. They literally shape their entire future, “yet these are the years that are invested in the least.” As a daughter of an Early childhood advocate and leader in the Lansing area I know this to be true.

It was just nice to know after all the decisions I’ve made throughout my pregnancy, and for my daughter’s first 2 years of life, there is a group of people who get it. I’ve had people treat me like I was crazy, dismiss the importance of my beliefs, and pass all types of judgement. SO….

This piece was inspired by all that and the fact that I’m raising a girl who gonna be WHOEVERRRRR she wants to be. AND THAT’S ON MARY’S FIRST LIL LAMB💅🏽

Before summer ended I had a very special opportunity to interview @swfreddy during the @swfestdetroit takeover for Fridays at the Station inside @michigancentraldetroit . This evening was different from the other episodes we’ve filmed because it was recorded in front of a live audience.

Freddy and I discussed his transition from graffiti to public art, affordable materials, and how to work with big brands.

I throughly enjoyed our conversation not only for the many laughs shared, but also because getting to know other artists is ALWAYS interesting.

🎨 This weekend meant a lot to me. Not just because I can say, I did a show in DC ✨ But because I showed up for myself—and finally got to see, firsthand, that I really, really can.

Artists don’t create in a vacuum. Art may inspire, but creating takes as much as it gives, sometimes even more.
We need the support, genuine connection, and opportunities to be able to keep going.

Talent matters, but so do the circumstances surrounding it. Ultimately you must answer the question: What will you do with the circumstances you find yourself in?
Will you find a way to meet your goal, or wait for your goal to meet you?
And here’s the thing: Goals don’t move without you 🚀

✈️ Adventure time: From having to ride a bus (for the first time—and it was delayed). Arriving at O’hare with 15minutes to get to my gate 🏃🏾‍♀️ 💨 🧳. Arriving in DC and I was all but stranded (lol). They say showing up is half the battle? What they don’t say, is it’s not just about you showing up for yourself, but being able to look around and see who is ready to go to war with you ❤️‍🔥 ⏩️⏩️ next slide

💞 And maaann when they say *it takes a village*—My village REALLY had my back. I think a lot about the support of my family—my collectors—my city—all rooting for me. All the DM’s, texts, calls. And my peoples?? 😭. From drop offs to pickups, coming out to the show, telling more friends, snack runs, baking an amazing bread which was literally my fuel. I can honestly say, I didn’t break through my fear alone. Far from it. I had all my angels with me and because of that, I CRUSHED it💗

One of my favorite parts of Superfair was definitely the people.

Seeing friends, meeting new artists, and reconnecting with folks I haven’t seen in a minute was everything. So many dope artists, good conversations, laughs, and love all weekend.

This Reel doesn’t show everybody, but just know the energy was real.

The art brings us together, but the people make the experience.

What these pictures won’t tell you is that for four days straight, I really lived my best life.

I did the things that make me happy. I laughed, connected, sold some art and just enjoyed being present.

Sometimes we get so caught up chasing what’s next that we forget to appreciate where we are.

I needed that reminder.

Eastside Love Letters began with listening.

Artist Mila Lynn invited residents across five east-side neighborhoods to share what they love about their communities and what they wanted their neighbors to carry with them. Their words became affirmations, and those affirmations became murals created alongside the residents, business owners and community partners who will live with them for years to come.
ㅤ
There is something deeply special about public art that carries a community’s own voice. Mila created a visual record of how Detroit’s east side sees itself: loving, connected, resilient and worthy of celebration.

I feel so fortunate. This is the life I have always dreamed of for myself. I am an artist, I have friends who are Artists. I have received gifts from fellow artists, given my art to other artists who appreciated my work and even exchanged Art with people I admire.
