FLOW FRIDAY ➰

A period should never become a sideline emergency. After 18 years of coaching, here’s one simple way male and female coaches and team parents can support the whole athlete: keep a $30 period emergency bag on the field.

Pads. Tampons. Wipes. Heat patches. Hair ties. Deodorant. Disposal bags. Backup underwear and shorts. An oversized shirt to tie around the waist.

It isn’t meant to replace athletes packing their own supplies. It simply ensures that if someone gets her period unexpectedly or for the very first time she can handle it privately, feel supported and get back to playing.

Periods are part of human anatomy. Being prepared shouldn’t feel awkward. It should be standard.

Coaches: Would you keep this bag on your sideline?

SAVE this list. SHARE it with your team. TAG a coach or team parent who should see it. 👇

A Coach can change a life or in my case save a life. When I met the Michele’s I knew I was learning more than just how to play lacrosse but I didn’t know then they were preparing me for life’s biggest challenge. I’m well equipped and confident all because they believed in me. Coaches you are a gift!

September 1 gets loud.

After years as a college coach and now sitting on the club side of recruiting, I’ve watched this day bring out a LOT of emotions — in players and parents.

If it were my player?

For the first few days, we’re deleting social media. We’re not checking who called who. We’re not analyzing follows. We’re not comparing timelines.

We’re staying on our own island 🏝️

FLOW FRIDAY ➰

This one is personal.

After almost 18 years of coaching female athletes and from my own experience as an athlete I kept coming back to the same thought:

We can do better.

Menstrual health shouldn’t only become part of the conversation when we’re talking about injuries.

And supporting the whole athlete means talking about the whole athlete..her health, nutrition, lifestyle, performance and understanding her own body.

@mygameflow is a place where athletes, coaches, parents, teammates and friends can learn, ask questions, hear from experts and support each other.

You don’t have to be an expert to be part of the conversation.

You just have to care enough to have it.

This is Part One of why I created @mygameflow.

There’s another part to the story.

I’m keeping that one to myself for a little while longer. ➰

Youth sports are called YOUTH sports for a reason. 👀

Kids don’t need our version of the game.

They want to play. Compete. Laugh. Have FUN. 🥍

At Scoops we see the game through their eyes, not ours.

LET THE KIDS PLAY. 🙌
