POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Nine years might be my anniversary, but I definitely didn’t get here alone. ❤️

I posted about nine years of Get A Grip recently, reflecting on everything this business has taught me. And afterwards, I realised I’d left out something pretty fucking important.

The people.

Because somewhere along the way, something that started as mine became something other people chose to put pieces of themselves into too.

Their knowledge. Their energy. Their creativity. Their personalities. Their different ways of seeing things. The things they notice that I don’t, and the way each of them brings something entirely different into the room.

And I think one of the hardest lessons in building something you care so deeply about is learning that you don’t have to be the person who does everything.

You have to make room for other people to be brilliant at things you’re not.

I’ve learned a lot about letting go of control, trusting people, accepting different approaches and realising that something doesn’t have to be done my way to be done beautifully.

To everyone who has taught a class, held space, shared an idea, helped behind the scenes, believed in something I was trying to create or simply showed up when it mattered, thank you.

Some have been here for years. Some are newer. Some have moved on. But you’ve all left something behind.

Nine years might be my anniversary.

But Get A Grip hasn’t been just mine for a long time. ❤️

Sometimes, the urge to do another workout isn’t coming from your body asking to move.

It’s coming from your mind asking for relief.

You’re stressed. Restless. You’ve had a big day. And you know that pushing yourself through a workout will probably make you feel better.

And sometimes, it absolutely will.

But there’s another skill worth learning.

Knowing when your body needs to be challenged, and when it needs you to help it come back down.

That’s why we created space for both at Get A Grip.
Strength when you need strength. Softness when you need softness.

And somewhere to learn the difference.

One of my favourite things about building this studio is that it doesn’t have to fit into one box.

Some days you’ll want to challenge yourself with Calisthenics Strength. Other days you’ll need Breathwork, Pilates, Yoga, Meditation, Trigger Point, or simply a space to slow down and reconnect.

The vision has never been to create another gym. It’s to build a place where strength and recovery exist side by side, where you can move through different seasons of life without needing to find a different studio every time your body asks for something new.

And we’re only just getting started.

We’ve got some really exciting ideas in the works. Think Animal Flow, unique movement practices, recovery experiences, and classes that make you leave feeling like you’ve genuinely discovered something.

But this studio is just as much yours as it is mine. If there’s a modality you’ve always wanted to try, a teacher you love, or something creative you think would belong here, tell me. I genuinely want to hear it.

Let’s build something a little different together. 🤍

If it gives you peace, clarity, energy, strength, health or a better quality of life… maybe it’s not a waste of money.

We will spend hundreds destroying ourselves without blinking.

Alcohol.
Drugs.
Fast dopamine.
Impulse buys.
Things we do not even remember properly a week later.

But the second something supports your body, your mind, your nervous system, your healing, your longevity…

“That’s expensive.”

Interesting.

At least spend money on the version of you your future self will actually get to live with.

The version that wakes up with energy. That can regulate stress. That sleeps properly. That feels strong in their own body. That does not feel disconnected from themselves every single day.

Because your habits are either charging interest or creating debt.

And eventually your body collects the bill for everything you kept calling “harmless.”

Start putting your hard work into the right things, you’ll be surprised to see how things change.

Rich in life because I get to experience whatever the hell this is.

Hanging off each other. Making weird shapes. Doing sissy squats like a cult initiation ritual.

But somehow… it’s unbelievably legit.

Knees getting stronger. Feet working properly. Quads firing. Core switching on. Tiny stabiliser muscles waking up from a 15-year nap.

The kind of training that looks chaotic from the outside but has your body feeling insanely connected from the inside.

Not just “working out.” Learning how to actually use your body.

Your body was built to do more than sit in chairs and walk in straight lines.

DM to make legit changes to your training.
