Chicago, IL - part 2

Had Trivoli Tavern for our anniversary dinner, and was blown away. Best steak I’ve ever eaten in my life, and the service was outstanding. They even brought us free ice cream and champagne 🥂

Got new tattoos together at Cathedral Tattoo, and said goodbye to the city by hitting up Mindy’s for breakfast on Saturday morning.

Couldn’t have asked for a better trip with my love. 💛

A Chicago path that’s perfect for your next family adventure!

If you’re looking for a stroller-friendly spot to get outside with the kids, add this one to your list!

STROLLER-FRIENDLY: Paved paths, multiple access points, plenty of signage, water fountains, and benches to stop for breaks (or baby snacks).

SHARED PATH: You’ll share the path with bikers, so keep little ones safely in the stroller and stay aware of your surroundings.

💪 FIT MOM TIP: Bring your favorite walking or jogging stroller and a good pair of shoes! You can also make it a family bike ride if your little ones are ready. There’s also fitness equipment in Walsh Park.

🚆 BONUS ADVENTURE TIP: Take the Metra to the Clybourn stop, then walk about 10 minutes to the path. I left my jogging stroller at home for this adventure, but my @ergobaby travel stroller handled the paved path like a champ!

MAKE A DAY OF IT:
• Walsh Park: Playground at the east end of the trail, with some features for little ones, but better suited to ages 5+

• Churchill Field Park: Baseball fields and a dog park

• Holstein Park: Another spot to add to your playground adventure further west near the path

• Food + drinks: Plenty of other options near the different access points including @mindysbakery, which is a family favorite.

Whether you’re squeezing in your steps, getting the kids outside, or turning a walk into a full family adventure, this is one to save. 💙

Send this to a mom friend who needs a new place to explore!

GETTING READY💄🥯🦋🍾 | 8.8.26

Woke up SO early and excited!! My beautiful bridesmaids wore their monogrammed button downs while the groomsmen were presented their custom bow ties and played beer die🤣 Shout out to Etsy for helping me personalize so many elements of the wedding. We sourced the bow ties from a bunch of different shops and even custom made a couple. Thank you Mindy’s and Pop Up Bagels for keeping us fed!

There are also so many reasons to thank @jessica_birchdesignstudio like truly she deserves her own post but a few weeks before the wedding we decided we wanted to bring in a second glam team so we could start the day as late as possible aka would it be possible to get 11 women glammed at the same time??? With short notice, Jess pulled it off, of course, because that’s what she does! Just another one of a billion reasons we loved and appreciated her SO much💕💄

Another A1 bakery in Chicago 🥐

@mindysbakery lives up to the hype and then some.

What we ordered:
🥯 Everything bagel with chive cream cheese
🍓 Raspberry crumble bar
🍪 Chocolate chip cookie
🍌 Malted Banana Grand au Lait

The coffee and raspberry crumble bar were the standouts for me. The banana flavor tasted natural and wasn’t overly sweet, while the raspberry filling was rich, slightly tart, and balanced perfectly with the sweeter crumble.

Definitely worth a stop next time you’re in Chicago!

All you need to know to eat well on @chimarathon weekend 🥐

4 bakeries worth your time:

@magnolia Bakery:: banana pudding. Add the chocolate. Don’t be lame, add fruit too.

@sugarmoonchi get there early, it sells out quickly.

@mindysbakery - good bagels, excellent cinnamon rolls.

@kasamachicago - a two star Michelin bakery. Try the black truffle croissant.

I ran Chicago in 2023, so I know how race weekend goes. Still confused about how to carb load? Comment CARBS and I’ll send you a plan built around your body weight, with a one, two or three day load.

Save and share with someone racing Chicago. 💾

Treats are the fun part. The plan is the part that gets you to the finish line feeling strong.

My carb loading plan is built around your body weight and gives you a one, two or three day load.
