The first to enter the Groad is also the first tale we shall tell - a team most united found all the portals (and a taco truck).

Back on October 5th I kicked off, in retrospect, four intense weeks, finally finished the roll and got it digitized.

Huzzah for Hup United - our first team to complete their journey along the Hallowed Groad.

According to their well kept records, the team, which is known to be fleet of wheel and comfortable on all terrains, were on the Groad for three hours, with wheels turning for over two.

They clearly had a rewarding journey, finding all seven portals, as well as a truck full of tacos at the end.

When will your team venture forth?

The key to any successful gravel ride is a convenience store. Russell’s saved us yesterday on 60 for 60. Nothing beats an old school convenience store. @hupunited team photo by @mingshan1 #hup #gravel

Hup United was the brainchild of @zacdaab a very long time ago. I’m not an OG, but version 1.12 is pretty close 😂 It’s a team for people who were tired being on “TEAMS.” Now people might call it a “squad” or something, but 20 (?) years ago having a group of like-minded people spread out geographically, but still united in bikes was totally unique. I love these folks! And riding with the same people over the course of 15 years of your life brings such perspective and comfort.

Yes, @velocb and @bertbiergaarten are my emotional support humans. 😂 They orchestrated this weekend of riding and hangouts complete with good vibes and creemees. And an excellent morel hunt mid ride 😂

The best part?? Riding with @mingshan1 and reminiscing about our 20 years of friendship which started at @cyclesmartinc cross camp. Bike friends are life friends. How lucky am I? 🥰

Flashback Friday to one of the best worst ideas ever. A bunch of us got inspired to do a Good Friday Stations of CX about a decade ago. It was 40 and raining. At least two of us ended up with bronchitis. Legendary day. Miss these shenanigans #goodfriday #cx #necx

We got the band back together at the Mixed Tape! So much fun! Thanks @mingshan1 for the great photo! And apologies for my somewhat “creative” line choices! The French Canadian line is not always the best idea! #hup #gravel photo by @mingshan1

Dipped my toes back into a little cyclocross season this fall for the first time in a while. Reflecting and feeling grateful for this crazy sport that pushes your body and mind unlike any other, for an incredible community that always welcomes you back, and for some fab old racing friends who are always there for me to chase around the course!

Thank you @riversideracing_ @youngsbikeshop and @pwpcoaching for getting me and my machines in working order.

Photo creds @williamkurtzphoto @chrs_evns and simple truth imaging!

Friends at @nohocx

There is something special about the cyclocross community in New England aka #NECX a good pile of us are very much internet friends who see each other only during CX season. Hard to explain, but these friends are why I write words like the next paragraph.

Like I said in the last one (because you might see this first, and the other one not at all) It was GOOD to be there, to see everyone, got many (never enough) hugs from some friends I care deeply about and a community being a bright light in the darkness.

If I say it on every post it won't be enough. Thank you @adammyerson for keeping this going for so many years.
