Eat Well | The Taste of Tokachi 🥔 🐖🥓 十勝｜北海道 Never thought a potato could be so memorable. Or that some of the best conversations in Tokachi would happen over dinner at a little yatai. Four days here completely changed my appreciation for the simplest ingredients. At Bito Farm @bito_laboratory , we discovered how aging potatoes brings out their natural sweetness, turning an everyday staple into something worth savoring. Behind that one potato is a family business built over generations, with enormous fields, serious machinery, and an equally serious dedication to making things better. Then came lunch at @hiyori_farm_and_table. A beautiful spread of seasonal vegetables, rice, and homemade dishes, prepared with so much care that we wanted to try absolutely everything. The kind of meal that makes you happy without trying too hard. And of course, @enzin_kitanoyatai - Enjin. Where everyone seems to end up after dark. Farmers, entrepreneurs, friends — sharing plates, discussing business, making introductions, and ordering just one more dish. I have a feeling more business gets done around those tables than in most meeting rooms. What I love about #Tokachi is that food isn’t just something to enjoy. It’s how people share their work, their pride, and their lives with one another. And we were very happy to eat our way into all of it. 十勝的美味，從來不只是食材新鮮。 尾藤農場把一顆馬鈴薯研究到極致，Hiyori 用當季蔬菜做出讓人捨不得停下筷子的家常料理。到了晚上，大家又聚在煙陣，一邊吃飯喝酒，一邊聊生意、介紹朋友。 這裡的農業有世代傳承的底氣，也有很迷人的人情味。四天下來，吃得太好，也認識了太多有趣的人。已經開始想念十勝的餐桌了。 #EatWell #TasteOfTokachi #Hokkaido #FarmToTable @kakeru_sp_jp @issho.kajiwara140 📸 @sho0316

The People of Tokachi | A Place to Belong 🐄🐖🥔🏕️🪵 You don’t really know how differently life can be lived until someone invites you into theirs. In Tokachi, happiness can be as simple as a glass of fresh milk, a potato harvested from the field, or a long dinner with people who have become friends. But nothing about that simplicity comes easily. Behind every ingredient are generations of farmers perfecting their craft. Behind the farms is a community built on trust — farmers who take immense pride in their work, local leaders who care deeply about their hometown, and entrepreneurs bringing AI into agriculture to make life a little easier without losing what makes it special. There are the outsiders who came for a visit, fell in love with the land, and somehow never left. And then there was us. Two curious city girls, completely mesmerized by the landscape, eating everything the chefs put in front of us, and shamelessly accepting every invitation — from farm visits and saunas to sausages, late dinners, and one more stop at Flying Fish. Somewhere along those four days, complete strangers became friends. And we felt like we belonged. AI & SHE Founding Table｜The table was part of the conversation. For the founding of AI & SHE, we wanted Taiwan and Japan to meet not only through the people in the room, but through what we shared at the table. Together with @mountainandseahouse and culinary artist Sayaka Wada @saya1121 , we created a menu bringing Taiwan’s breakfast traditions into conversation with Japanese obanzai — small dishes, seasonality, and food made to be shared. Born in Osaka, Sayaka’s work now takes her between Japan, New York, and Taipei, bringing a distinctly Kansai sensibility wherever she sets the table. It’s an idea we’ve explored with her throughout the summer: from a Japanese grilled-fish breakfast at Asasumi, to sixty women across the AI ecosystem gathering at Mountain & Sea House. Different tables, same intention. Food changes the rhythm of a room. We pass a dish, share a story, and somewhere along the way, titles matter a little less and new connections begin. For us, culinary collaborations are not simply about what we serve. They are part of how we create the conditions for people to connect. Taiwan and Japan. Technology and culture. OBANZAI to the world‼︎ 右も左も分からず、友達もいない台湾に1人で向かい、ポップアップイベント。 @mingytc @clubcareher が素晴らしい滞在をアレンジしてくれました。 私の為に本当に沢山のサポートをしてくれました。 そして、沢山一緒にもぐもぐしてくれた😋 台湾の人達があまりに温かい歓迎と、おもてなしをしてくれて、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。 ありがとうだけでは、言い表わすことが出来ないくらいの、素晴らしい滞在とイベントになりました。 親日とは聞いていたけれど、台湾の人達の考え方や歴史的背景を直接聞くことが出来て、海外でイベントするにあたりもっと色んな視点からも歴史の勉強をしなければならないと感じました。 台湾の人達の温かさ、おもてなし、優しさ、コミュニティは何度も言うけれど、素晴らしすぎて、一生忘れられないくらい。 来月もイベントが決まり、 @mingytc @clubcareher チームと今後も一緒に良いものを作り上げて行けることを本当に嬉しく思う！ 食が繋いでくれたご縁。世界は広い。 友達が1人もいなかった台湾に沢山の友達が出来たことを嬉しく思います。 本当にありがとう。 またすぐに！ 日本のみんな、台湾にぜひ行って欲しい！ ご飯も美味しいし、最高よ！ OBANZAI to the world!! 🇯🇵❤️🇹🇼 I traveled to Taiwan alone for a pop-up event, knowing no one and not even knowing my way around. Thanks to @mingytc and @clubcareher, my entire stay was beautifully arranged. I was welcomed with such incredible warmth and hospitality that I’m filled with gratitude. “Thank you” doesn’t even begin to express how meaningful and unforgettable this experience and event were. I had always heard that Taiwan is friendly toward Japan, but hearing directly from local people about their history and perspectives made me realize that, when bringing Japanese culture overseas, it’s important to understand history and culture from many different points of view. The kindness, hospitality, generosity, and strong sense of community in Taiwan were truly extraordinary. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever forget the warmth I experienced there. I’m so excited that we’ll be returning next month for another event, and I’m truly grateful to continue creating something special together with the @mingytc and @clubcareher team. Food has a beautiful way of bringing people together. The world is so big, yet it can also feel so small. I arrived in Taiwan without a single friend, and I’m leaving with so many.
