African American Heritage Day was one for the books! ❤️⚾️ We celebrated the culture, history, and the true sound of Washington, D.C. GoGo music at the Washington Nationals game vs. the Colorado Rockies. @nationals

From the pregame performance by Sugar Bear @dareal_sugarbear and the Go-Go Museum @thegogomuseum truck bringing the D.C. sound to the ballpark, to Shy Glizzy @jefe throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, the energy was unmatched. And those Chocolate City jerseys?

A beautiful celebration of Black culture, D.C. pride, and community. Full Recap coming soon!

My 19th NABJ in the books. Apparently I still can’t call myself a vet yet. I first started attending convention as a college junior, then served as NABJ’s Student Representative, then served as a Programming Committee and Hall of Fame Selection Committee member, then developed workshops. This year was my fifth NABJ as a talent executive and recruiter and also I was honored to serve as NABJ’s Salute to Excellence Chair alongside a group of incredible judges. #nabj26

NABJ in Atlanta was one for the books! It’s always such a refresh and reminder of why the work we all do is so essential.

The National Association of Black Journalists celebrated their 50th anniversary this year, and I’m honored to be a member. This conference is centered on collaboration and community, not competition. People were generous with their wisdom and learnings, and it always feels like we are rising together.

I learned a ton from journalists I admire, and those I just met. Hope to share some of the takeaways with yall soon! #nabj #atlanta

✨️This week's Majic Wednesday was unforgettable! What a truly special evening! ✨️

I was honored to be in attendance as our founder, media pioneer Ms. Cathy Hughes, was presented with the Key to the City🗝 by Mayor Muriel Bowser in recognition of her extraordinary impact on broadcasting, entrepreneurship, and the D.C. community.

Ms. Hughes has created opportunities for generations of media professionals, and I am incredibly grateful for her vision, leadership, and the doors she has opened for so many of us.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was coming together with the community and reconnecting with friends and people I've had the privilege of working with over the years. It was also wonderful meeting so many amazing new people. Shout out to my Radio One DC family whose passion and energy made the evening even more memorable. 🥰 Love and admiration for @iamcathyhughes brought all of us together.

Congratulations, Ms. H, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for your legacy, your excellence, and for inspiring us all. 💜

Today was a celebration worthy of a legend. ♥️
Urban One Founder and Chairman Cathy Hughes @iamcathyhughes received the Keys to the City from Mayor Muriel Bowser, honoring a lifetime of leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication to empowering communities through media.

The room was filled with powerful tributes from Mayor Muriel Bowser, Alfred C. Liggins III, Michelle Rice, Cora Masters Barry, Virginia Ali, and LaToya Foster, each reflecting on Cathy’s immeasurable impact on Washington, DC and beyond.

To everyone who joined us at Magic Wednesdays at Sycamore & Oak, thank you. Seeing our Urban One family, Radio One DC family, TV One family, community leaders, partners, and supporters gathered together was a beautiful reminder that when someone spends a lifetime pouring into others, people show up to celebrate them.

DC showed up in Philly today. 🔥 Wale @wale hit the stage at The Roots Picnic and reminded everybody why he’s one of the city’s greatest. From the DMV to Philly, the energy was right!

Some people get interviews. Some people get flowers. But yesterday? We gave a living legend a whole radio celebration. 🎉

Honored to celebrate Anwan “Big G” Glover (@anwanglover) in studio for his birthday during the Happy Hour Mix with DJ Dirty Rico… and hearing him say he’s never had a live radio birthday party like that before? Yeah... it was a special day! ♥️

If you’re from DC, you already know what Big G means to the culture. Backyard Band (@backyardband) has been part of so many of our memories, and to still see that love and impact in real time is everything.

I’ve known Big G a long time, and one thing about me… I’m always going to celebrate the people who helped shape the culture we grew up on. Giving flowers while they can still smell them. 👏🏾💐

Thank you @noisemakernation @a_plus @mionsade Buddah @kaprimonique ✨
