I'm a millennial. I was taught from a young age to go to college, get the job, work hard, and then work even harder! 🫷

And I did, at a price that almost cost me something incredibly valuable: my creative self. At times, I worked two jobs. I hustled. I was always striving for MORE. And over time, it changed me. I learned to associate productivity with value.

That mindset hardened me. It didn’t leave much room for softness or stillness, only the constant feeling that I should be doing, achieving, becoming MORE.

As an artist, creativity is born from play, and there was very little room for play in hustle culture.

My friend Mira posted something the other day that really resonated with me. She said "Please join me in prayers & gratitude as we lay to rest our beloved Boss Babe... So many had, in fact, forgotten just how powerful a woman in her whimsy truly is."

I am learning that softness does not have to be earned after everything else is complete. It CAN be the way I move through the world, if I choose it.

I heard someone say they thought kids weren’t invited.
Kids are invited!
Someone said they couldn’t come because their friends were in town. Bring your friends!

This is a community event! It’s a fundraiser for the school but it’s for the community, and if it doesn’t have children, friends, & elders then it’s not community.

So please come through. We have an incredible group of musicians and artists traveling from all over the state to sell at our marketplace. The food is delicious and the vibes are immaculate.

I don’t think I have to tell you how special it is to have an event like this here in this area, especially in beautiful Wildcat Canyon.
Send this to your friend you’re thinking about inviting.

Hi!! If you are a quilter, seamstress or collector of fabrics, I am in need of your support to help me connect with a source for more of this rare pattern.
✨🧵✨
It’s a beautiful rapid river filled with sweet spawning salmon.
I’ve reached out to every local fabric shop that I know of, searched Etsy and opened up to a broader web search and still have yet to find a match.
✨✨🔎👀🔍✨✨
I’m hoping that either you or someone you know will be able to connect me with more of this beautiful fabric.✨🤞🏼✨
Feel free to share this video, tag potential folks who might be able to help or DM me if you have any leads.✨🔎🕵🏻‍♀️🔍✨
In advanced thankfulness and gratitude for your support,
💛 Ms. Emily Butterfly
