I’ve loved poetry since I was young. I used to write when I was younger but really haven’t written much since college.

So starting to write again & share my poems has been tender but sweet. People liking & saving & sharing my poem 🥹 is the most touching thing. I think because it’s the most personal -it feels the most vulnerable.

The clothing was vulnerable at one point, but now it’s not at all. It’s still fun just doesn’t feel very personal.

The podcast is more vulnerable because it’s new and sharing women and conversations close to my heart. But the main focus is the guest.

This is just me. Just my little heart sharing the words that visit it.

Writing has always been such a healing tool for me. My mind is so quick she’s hard to catch sometimes.

She says mean things, about me & others. Before I even have a chance to say “hey! That’s not true” she’s left her imprint & is on to the next.

But writing is slow, the words take some time traveling from my mind through my heart and down to my hands.
There’s a distillation process.

Mind may have been able to get away with things but my heart and hands won’t commit them to paper. They won’t turn them to matter.

When I write I choose what I put out into the world and I’m not going to consciously put out some mean old nonsense or judgment.

When I get to choose, I choose love, kindness, beauty & honesty.

Anyways.

There are few things more triggering than money. Especially for women. And. The world needs you to dust yourself off and get some of that $$$ so we can start investing in the world we want with more than our prayers. (as strong as they are)

What a gift to make friends with your doubts. To welcome them to sit beside you as you talk to the trees.

And when the trees talk back… well I don’t know if there’s a clearer sign of arrival.

Participation & reciprocity are non negotiables . Treat “other” like trees, walk in the shadows without fear, knowing they are in right relation with the light. As are you. Always.

Be bright, be bold, bring it all.

Please join me in prayers & gratitude as we lay to rest our beloved Boss Babe.

She helped so many of us step out of the confines of our humility and blessed us with the ability to believe in dreaming, and dreaming big.

We thank you, beloved boss babe, for stretching our imaginations and reminding us to believe in our visions.

So many had, in fact, forgotten just how powerful a woman in her whimsy truly is. And you helped show us all that even in this world, created in the image of men and centered on their success, even here, women too can dominate.

But this is where we bid you adieu, for we didn’t come to dominate.

We are done propping up a world that does not center the well-being of the very earth we stand upon, which nourishes us and gives us life.

We are done competing in systems that do not center all life on this mystical home we call Earth.

Beloved boss babe, may you rest easy knowing your work is done. Your points have been proven to all with eyes to see. There are those who will never see your greatness, no matter how many mountains you summit, and we are done trying to catch their approving eyes.

As we cease the tireless games, we finally begin to know quiet. And in this quiet space, we begin to hear ourselves and all things. The more we listen, the more we hear. And we are done being silent about what we hear.

May every babe who ever bossed be abundantly blessed as she enters her oracle era & graces the world with what she truly came to share. by @mirablackman
