Visita: https://www.bettebuna.com/pages/the-roots-of-our-farms

Last month, I had distinct honor to be the Head Judge for the second Gems of Yunnan (GOY) @cupofexcellence Pilot in China. The older I get (and busier I am with multiple projects), the harder I find it is to post on social media. 😭 Now I’m off on another COE assignment (this week in Indonesia), and have a long roasting session today with the team here in Bandung. As I’m waiting for batches to drop, I’ve spent some time narrowing down some memories from those incredible two weeks. Here is my first of two GOY 2026 photo recaps. A huge thank you to Ms. CC Su - @locaciecilia - for tirelessly organizing an amazing event. Also thank you to the Specialty Coffee Society of Yunnan (云南省精品咖啡学会) as the in-country partner. As a pilot program, the only real difference from my point of view was the auction structure. The entire 2026 Gems of Yunnan ran like a well-oiled COE machine, the coffees were SPECTACULAR, and I I’m really hoping to see a full-blown China COE in the near future! Oh yeah, the food was also amazing ... to say the least. @_benjoman_ and I will be hosting a public cupping of the Top 10 GOY coffees @fellowproducts Cafe on Abbot Kinney (Venice Beach, CA) on Aug 14 at 9 AM. @eliocoffee_ (last year’s GOY Head Judge) and I will host an additional public cupping of these coffees in Portland, OR next week – Date and Venue TBD soon! ☕️ The stunning view of the Xishan Mountains framing Kunming from our cupping lab. The GOY roasting team dialing in profiles in the first day. The wonderful team of National Cuppers hard at work during the Preselection and National Stage. One of the cafes in our amazing GOY venue. This is Autumn Amber, which is owned by last year’s GOY winner, Ms. Sai Min. Another cafe in our venue: Injoy Six Coffee The very bohemian night market that was open every evening, immediately adjacent the cupping venue, with incredible food, local artists, and live music. Yummy prosciutto with melon at the night market after a long day of cupping. Hands down my favorite night market vendor! Eve

!!! . 여러분 벌써부터 보고 싶어요!!! it was wonderful experience for me and great honor to be with you. always people make us move on the other stage let's move on 💕👋 and I'm already miss you a lot 😭

Kunming, Yunnan Province Spring City 春城, City of Eternal Spring Lake Dian, The Pearl of the Plateau 2nd Cup of Excellence Pilot: Gems of Yunnan ——- Not loudly. Not all at once. But with the patience of stone warmed by sun, with the persistence of water finding its way. Overlooked beauty is not hidden—it is simply not yet understood by the speed of the world. With Love from Yunnan ✌️
