I love this video that my good friend, colleague and buisness parter made of me . He really captured my mood and feeling when I cup and do what I love in the lab . This is a new and beautiful space in @lbfgreencoffeeimporters created for all coffee lovers to learn and share knowledge. I am proud of the amazing work that Andrea and Stefano do and how much we had grown together over this past 7 years . It is always a pleasure for me to go and spend time with them . Esta mañana fue muy especial🥰
Conocimos a Jolie hace un par de años, pero no fue hasta hoy que tuvimos la oportunidad de probar sus cafés y compartir reflexiones, experiencias y momentos emotivos ☺️

Entusiasmadas por empezar esta nueva colaboración y con el propósito de ser parte de un proyecto tan lindo.

I travelled almost twenty hours to the other side of the world to taste coffee.
But, as always, I came back with much more.
For six days, I shared long days, conversations, meals, silences and countless cups of coffee with people who had once been complete strangers.
Different countries.
Different cultures.
Different languages.
Different stories.
And yet, we all had one thing in common:
Coffee.
Coffee became the meeting point where we could all come together. A shared language. A passion. A transparent thread connecting people, cultures and worlds — a kind of invisible web stretching across the planet.
Not everyone can see it.
But once you do, it is difficult to leave it behind.
Around the cupping table, our differences seemed to disappear.
Twelve people.
The same protocol.
The same dance.
For a moment, complete silence.
And then, the sound of the first slurp.
Then another.
And another.
Twelve people in the same room, unknowingly creating the melody of a coffee tasting.
Because every coffee speaks.
You only have to learn how to listen.
Some experiences cannot fit into a photograph or a social media post. Some stories need space, time and words.
This is why I have finally decided to start writing.
Welcome to my Substack.
A place to talk about coffee, but also about the people behind it. About journeys, perception, emotions, and everything we discover when we allow ourselves to look a little further beyond the surface.
I do not know exactly where this journey will take us.

Hay experiencias que recuerdan por los cafés que pruebas. Y otras, por todo lo que aprendes durante el proceso.

Participar como jueza en un programa piloto de Cup of Excellence es una de ellas.

A diferencia de una edición consolidada, aquí todo está empezando a construirse. Se forman jueces, se afinan los protocolos, se evalúan los cafés y se descubre el verdadero potencial de un origen que aspira a formar parte de Cup of Excellence.

Lo que más me gusta de estas experiencias es poder conocer un país productor desde dentro, compartir mesa con profesionales de diferentes partes del mundo y contribuir, aunque sea un poco, al desarrollo de su cultura de calidad.

Al final, detrás de cada café hay mucho más que una puntuación. Hay personas, decisiones y años de trabajo que merecen ser reconocidos.

Grateful for the opportunity to judge in Ireland 🇮🇪
A big thank you to @sca_ireland for hosting such an inspiring competition. It was truly an enriching experience from start to finish.
Sharing the table with such skilled and dedicated judges pushed me to be sharper, more precise, and more intentional in every comment. These are the moments that really elevate our work — learning from each other, calibrating together, and holding high standards for the competitors and the craft.
A special thank you to @john_rtfr_stubberud for trusting me and believing in me as Head Judge. That trust means a lot, and I carry it with a strong sense of responsibility and gratitude.
And I am very grateful to @maya.rozwadowska for inviting me.

Hoy presentamos Delilab. No solo forma parte de Valencia is Coffee, también está en el origen de este proyecto.

Junto a MyCoffeeGuide, somos parte de la organización de un evento que nace con una idea clara: crear un espacio real de encuentro para la comunidad del café.

Durante estos días, Valencia se convierte en un punto de conexión entre tostadores, productores, baristas y profesionales del sector, con un foco fuerte en educación, conversación y comunidad.

Dentro del evento, también estamos presentes con nuestro propio espacio: la sala Delilab, donde llevamos lo que hacemos en el día a día —análisis, criterio y acompañamiento en café verde— al formato de encuentro, formación y diálogo.

Para nosotras, Valencia is Coffee es una extensión natural de Delilab:

trabajar el café desde las personas, el conocimiento y el intercambio.

Nos vemos allí.

Detrás de Delilab somos familia, con experiencia y muchas horas dedicadas al café.

Soy Miranda Ciarfuglia. El café es mi trabajo y mi forma de estar en el mundo: desde el origen hasta que llega a casa de alguien. Paso del control de calidad y la cata a la logística, los números y las decisiones del día a día, intentando que todo tenga sentido y se haga bien. También doy formación en Sensory Skills y estoy empezando mi camino como jueza en competiciones. Y en medio de todo eso nació Valencia Is Coffee: un espacio para aprender, conectar y cuidar la parte humana del café

Para nosotras, el café no es solo un producto: es conocimiento, criterio y proceso compartido.
