We use the word "pain" to describe a lot of sensations during exercise.

The burning
The fatigue
The breathlessness
The frustration
The anger
The fear

But these experiences are not the same, and can't be put under the same imprecise label.

So before calling it pain, think to yourself: what is this actually?

Don't deny the sensation, just describe it more accurately with other words.

@mirjamhaymann, a wonderful full yoga teacher use to say in classes "stay with it!" and these words still resonate in my head when things get hard.

Explore what your body is saying to you before you decide to stop, because it will reward you for listening.

No promises of becoming a new person.
Just a few days in Mallorca with a lot of time for movement, delicious food, good people and a little more space than usual.
Capured on Super8 by my lovely friend @ireneschweizerstudio 🤍

Some places stay with you long after you’ve left.

This little corner of Deià, high up in the Serra de Tramuntana, gave us a week we’ll never forget. Slow mornings, movement, breathwork, laughter, long dinners and moments that reminded us what really matters.

We’re still longing to be back.

Which is exactly why we’ve already planned the next retreat.

18–23 June 2027. We can’t wait to return.

If this speaks to you, our Inbox is open for more information 🤍

Thank you Irene @ireneschweizerstudio for capturing some of it through your artists eye🫶🏼

For the upcoming Soleil Alpine Retreat in January, I’m so happy to have Miri with us again.

Over our three days in the mountains, she’ll guide us through yoga and breathwork. Miri has been part of Soleil Retreat Club from the beginning, and I’m definitely not the only one who loves the way she teaches.

She’s tough when she needs to be, incredibly knowledgeable, and always brings humour into the room. What I love most about her teaching is the depth behind it: she weaves yoga philosophy into her practice in a way that feels relevant and real - taking ancient ideas off the mat and translating them into something we can actually use in our everyday lives.

Expect to move, sweat, breathe, learn and laugh. And probably leave with a few thoughts that stay with you long after the weekend is over.

So happy to have you back, Miri.

While we're melting away here in Zurich during this heatwave, I find myself longing for crisp mountain air and the quiet rhythm of snowshoe hiking through the Engadin.

Beyond its beauty, winter movement has remarkable effects on the body. Rhythmic aerobic exercise in nature stimulates the vagus nerve, increases parasympathetic activity, supports heart rate variability (HRV), lowers cortisol over time, and helps regulate our stress response. Cold, fresh air encourages slower, deeper breathing, while the stillness of the mountains reduces sensory overload and gives the brain space to recover.

It's not just about fitness. It's about regulation, resilience, and remembering what a calm nervous system feels like.

That's exactly what we'll be creating together this January at the beautiful Meisser Resort in Guarda. ❄️🤍

The way we move, where we stand, how we demonstrate, when we choose to offer touch. All of it communicates. Sometimes more clearly than words alone could.

Upcoming Workshop
19th September

Whether you’re already teaching or simply curious to deepen the way you share the practice, this is an invitation to refine one of the most overlooked aspects of teaching.

In this workshop @mirjamhaymann sheds light on body language, physical assists and the subtle ways we create clarity, trust and connection in a yoga class.
