To kick off the school year, we featured our first VTR graduating senior in the Sept @vtr_stroll, Luke!

As he wraps up his time at @midway_hs, he leaves behind an impressive high school experience filled with academics, activities, and plenty of new interests that are helping shape his future.

A member of NHS, NTHS, SkillsUSA, UIL, and YMSL, Luke has also been involved in orchestra, engineering club, cross country, football, and soccer. He was honored with the Spirit of Midway recognition, and one class in particular helped point him toward his future: Digital Electronics.

With the encouragement of his teacher, Mr. Williams, Luke discovered a passion for electrical engineering and now hopes to pursue that path in college. While he hasn't decided exactly where he'll attend yet, he's excited and ready for the next chapter.

Congratulations, Luke! We can't wait to see where your talents, curiosity, and determination take you! 🎓

Texas 6A volleyball represents the highest classification of high school volleyball in the state—deep talent, intense competition, and limited roster spots.

At Midway, approximately 1,300 female students attend the high school, yet only 52 athletes across grades 9–12 earned a spot on a volleyball roster. That’s just 4%.

Making a 6A volleyball team isn’t simply participating—it means earning your place among a large and highly competitive pool of athletes.

52 spots. 1,300 girls. 4%. Earning the jersey means something. 🏐 #12 #taylorlee #TL #freshmanyear✔️ @midwayathletics

🏌🏼‍♂️ Have you been to Swing Golf Club yet? It was created to be more than a place to practice, it’s where community, growth, and the game of golf come together.

Founded by Waco native Rafael Rodrigues, a 2015 graduate of @midway_hs, the club reflects a vision shaped by a background in customer experience and a lifelong passion for the game. From the ground up, every detail was intentionally designed with people in mind, not just performance ⛳️

We love having Rafael and @swingwaco as our Stroll sponsor! Read more about them in our Feb @vtr_stroll issue!

🌟 Each month, @VTR_Stroll features a neighborhood athlete, and this month, we are excited to introduce you to Ariana!

Ariana started running in the 7th grade to supplement soccer but realized that she thrived and enjoyed cross country more 🏃‍♀️

She's now a sophomore at @midway_hs and runs for the MHS Cross Country and Track teams. For Track, she runs the 800m and the 1600m.

Thank you Ariana, for sharing with us and best of luck with the upcoming track and field season 🏅

And thank you @artisanroofingctx for sponsoring our Athlete article each month!

We were honored to support the Midway ISD Foundation and Chapel Park Elementary in helping bring the ClearTouch Interactive Panel to their students.
Seeing tools like this create more inclusive, engaging, and accessible learning environments is exactly why community partnerships matter.

We’re so happy to contribute in a way that helps students connect, learn, and thrive.

Thank you to the Midway ISD Foundation for all you do for our local schools!

🏡 Each month, we get the chance to shine a light on the wonderful people who call Twin Rivers home — and our January featured neighbors are no exception!

📫 Whether you’ve waved at them from across the street or passed them at the park, now’s your chance to really get to know the Washburn family! They love spending time outdoors and local adventures are a regular part of their life as well 🌿

Thank you to the Washburns for being our @vtr_stroll cover family for January 💛
