This week we added new names to the Freedom Fitness Challenge — each one now carries a workout in their honor through every rep this July. **Newly added:** **CSM Marilyn Gabbard** — U.S. Army, Iowa Army National Guard. First woman CSM in Iowa. *”Why not?”* **Lt. Col. Joseph “Loosh” Lucia III** — U.S. Marine Corps Aviator. **A1C Eric M. Barnes** — U.S. Air Force, 424th MTD. Age 20. **Heroes in this challenge that were already added **Nathan Gage Ingram** — Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class. Honored with a WOD created by SaddleUp CrossFit in Texas. **MA2 Robert “Rob” Alvarez** — U.S. Navy, E-5. Waipahu, Hawaii. 13 years of service. *”Good Luck. Grateful to be doing Murph this year at my new home @invictus_sandiego 💚with my gorgeous friend @taylor.fullerton next to this amazing person @miss.alex91 who I appreciate deeply for her service, and with this powerful community of people at Invictus. 💚 Grateful for all the men and women who have served and those who have lost their lives. I will never fully know or understand the extent of their sacrifice but I will do my best to honor them in how I live my life. With a few years of health issues that have deeply and quietly affected me physically and mentally, I was so happy to do it with a 20# vest this year. One thing that has been a non-negotiable for me regardless of how much I was struggling, fatigued or in pain was to keep doing @crossfit and my running. Many days it’s a huge challenge and will leave me more exhausted and in more pain, but I have no doubt I would be worse off if I didn’t keep showing up. Glad the tear in my triceps healed in time for me to do pull-ups after 2 months of being unable to even get on the pull up bar. There are countless other things I am grateful for that I will keep to myself. 💚 Thank you to Coach Sandi for getting a picture of me deep in my head during the workout and for getting me on the FRIST mile run and not the second which looked way uglier! 🫣

Loved doing it with the strong and stunning @taylor.fullerton who is such a special friend to me. I appreciate her so deeply, how she makes me laugh so hard, and how she allows me to be fully me…weird, imperfect and completely authentic. 💚 Thank you to @valor_fit_org for the work you are doing and the great shirt!
