There is a line we do not cross 🤝 IFMA has signed “The Line We Don’t Cross” Declaration at the 2026 IF Forum in Lausanne, standing with Mission 89 against the exploitation of young athletes in, through and around sport.

IFMA Director General Charissa Tynan joined Lerina Bright of Mission 89 to endorse the initiative, which promotes stronger safeguarding, education, ethical recruitment and support for survivors.

Every child deserves to dream, participate and achieve through sport, safe from exploitation and abuse.

It is a great honour to have taken part in an educational podcast and share my thoughts and experiences as a young athlete and Mission 89 Youth Ambassador. 🥊❤️

@missioneighty9 , in partnership with Free the Slaves and the Office of the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons (ONRTIP Jamaica), organized this important podcast to raise awareness about human trafficking in sport, promote safe sport, and highlight the important role young people can play in preventing exploitation and protecting their communities.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to raise my voice, learn from others, and be part of this meaningful conversation. 🙏🌎

Yesterday was World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and I got the opportunity to have an insightful and important discussion as an ambassador of @missioneighty9 on ways we can protect the dreams and lives of athletes around the world who dream of travelling abroad to play sport professionally 🙏🏽✋🏽

🗣️: "Parents in particular are very vulnerable to traffickers and fake agents who try and convince them that this is a good way to support their child."

🗣️: "Sometimes it's not just that traffickers are asking for money to move the child, sometimes, they're offering it as a sweetener to make it happen; there's a lot of manipulation that goes on."

@kateiorpenda - a mum of a professional footballer - explains to @femicoolfm on #HardFacts how parents fall prey to traffickers.

🗣️: "Sometimes the dream is so big and powerful that it can be blinding; victims are often not aware that they are victims."

🗣️: "The reality is that the professional sports industry is ruthless and sometimes you need a bit of luck."

🗣️: "It's got to be about verifying, if someone's is pressurizing you, that's something you really worry about."

Super Falcons defender, @ashleighhplumptre, @kateiorpenda, (a mother of a professional footballer), and facilitator at @missioneighty9, Daniele Canepa, give their perspectives on how trafficking in sports can easily go undetected by victims.

On behalf of WSH Elite Cup, we stand for the protection and safeguarding of every young athlete.

As an organisation working with players across borders, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that every opportunity in sport is safe, ethical, and transparent.

Football should be a space where young people grow, learn, and dream- not a place of exploitation.

We compete against each other in sport, but we unite to protect children.

We are proud to join the global campaign.

Child trafficking has no place in sport. This is the line we don't cross.
