To Ms. Jackson —

Thank you for trusting me to lead and for staying committed all the way through the end of the term. Your loyalty, leadership, and belief in our mission meant more than words can express.

I don’t know how we pulled off everything we did—but WE did it. And what we built together is something special.

Spades Night, Homecoming, Graduate Assembly, and the work of the Senate under your leadership will NEVER go unnoticed. You held it down with excellence, poise, and purpose—and our graduate scholars are better for it.

Thank you for being the steady force behind the scenes and the trusted partner out front. I’ll forever be grateful.

To my classmates, my roommate, my friends—and most importantly, the Graduates:

What a moment. I’m so proud of each of you. Watching y’all walk across that stage, knowing the obstacles, the growth, and the late nights behind it all—it hit different. I’m grateful to have been a small part of your journey and to have shared in the joy, laughter, and grind that got you here.

In the famous words of our Provost: Keep Winning.
And I know you will—because you already are.

This was more than just a celebration. This was legacy in motion.

Congratulations, Class of 2025. Y’all did that.

The tragedy of my mother’s passing. The loss of an almost four-year relationship. The sting of rejection, the denial of job opportunities. The isolation. The moments I wanted to end my life. The times I felt like giving up altogether. The Goliath of facing grad school in a completely different major than my undergrad. The process of figuring it all out. The imposter syndrome. The tears. The narcolepsy. The insomnia. Even the confrontation of emotional trauma handed to me by people who never truly knew me.

This is my journey at Clark Atlanta University.

I came in looking—and being—a completely different person than I am today. God told me that a lot might happen once I said yes to coming here, but He also asked, “EVEN IF it does, will you still trust Me?”

Once you say yes, it becomes a whole new battleground.

To the beautiful people I’ve met, the wonderful opportunities I’ve had, the new places I’ve traveled, my school, and—most importantly—my Lord and Savior, Jesus (Yeshua) Christ, I say thank you.

To those who come after me… I’ll see you at the top.
