“Medtronic’s InPen helps me connect my data points and remember when I took my last dose of insulin. It takes a lot of the manual labor out of it for me, but still lets me be in control of my injections.”

Julia says that she’s found a happy medium when it came to deciding between an #InsulinPump or MDI: the #InPen!

This system requires a prescription and proper settings, or you could experience highs/lows. See bit.ly/InPen-Risks.

It’s time for Type 1 Tuesday Talks 💙 If you didn’t know, our mission here at Pretty Simple is to start a conversation around type 1 and raise necessary dollars to help fund research in finding a cure. Which is why our CURE mitten collection was born. Not only do we want to spread awareness around T1D, but we also want to start blessing type 1 warriors by allowing them to share their stories, giving them the recognition they deserve, and by gifting them our CURE mittens. Let’s talk type 1. Let’s start the conversation. And lets find the cure. @rosiethet1dwarrior you are amazing and we hope you love your pink CURE mittens 💕

Happy World Diabetes Day! 💙

Personally, this was my best year with diabetes. I started on Control IQ almost a year ago and by June, my A1c had gone down nearly 4.5%. That’s a huge win for me and the most progress I’ve seen with my diabetes management since like…before the pandemic. Diabetes is such a grind and I remember feeling low about my outlook on my life with diabetes. All I knew I was tired of the highs, feeling sluggish, the impact it was having on my relationship with food and my body…all the stuff we think about with living with this stressful condition.

This past year also introduced me to new friends and grow existing friendships. No one asks to have diabetes, nobody (this is for those who think people with T2D are at fault for their own diagnosis…I see you 🫠)….howeverrr…

I would be lying if I said I haven’t met some of the most awesome people in the world because of it. There are so many of you I love and admire. Your work and dedication to helping people with diabetes is inspiring and *you* have personally made my days brighter too! (There were a bunch of pics to choose from but yall know who you are! 🥰🥰🥰)

Wherever you are in your diabetes journey, I hope you have the support system you need and deserve. The people who love you when you’re low and cranky, the people who’ll go on a walk with you when you’re high (and not high off life), and the people who’ll tell you it’s okay to not be strong in the moment because they’re there to lift you up. And the folks who will make you laugh with their puns 😂

We all need those folks in our lives and to be that person for someone else too. We’re all connected and it’s days like today that remind me of that. 💙💙💙
