This is Solid State Vol.1 CD insert- 1999

Not a picture i took, but one i’m in 👻

I thought it was pretty funny when this came into my store and i saw myself in this photo - with my full name clearly written on my press badge - from the Zao show @ Cornerstone ‘98. I was running all over the place around that time for work, and happened to bump into or exchange familiar looks with Brandon Ebel at a few EMI/music conferences/luncheons. He came up and asked me on a couple of occasions, “What band are you in, again?” My friend Geoff worked at T&N and had a photo of me at his desk and he told me that B saw it one time and said, “oh i know that girl. I forgot, what band is she in?” Always got a kick out of that 😅

Lost my copy of this years ago but managed to find one on eBay.

Your big brown eyes, with a small small heart

Just developed: 19 year old slide film - shot from a #lomofisheye cam - that went from a freezer to a storage unit, then a fridge, then a ziplock bag and got totally destroyed.

Flashback to my early days at @wearereelfx, band photo outtakes, and awkward swimsuit pics of the kids and me with less body and 99% less tattoos. I wish i knew how this time would shape my future and i love the dusty reminder. And i miss my old ‘84 Nissan 300zx 🥲

I kinda dig the stupid emulsified shit. Could be a thing..

This show happened right before Cornerstone festival, somewhere in Illinois. Seeing these guys play live measured up to everything I imagined after listening to their music for so many years before this. And I have to say, there’s something way more intense about a hardcore show at a venue with low ceilings.

Brandtson: Chronological L-R. “Trying to figure each other out” is the first record I remember owning from a non classic rock band, this is my second copy. I have a lot of favorite bands but Brandtson is a special one. Favorite song: little rounder honorable mention: Grace thinks I’m a failure.

I fell for this band the moment I hit play on Separate the Magnets. Can’t remember the venue here, but seeing Grade play to in this small room with the lights on was just perfect. And they sounded so good! This show was actually with Prayer for Cleansing, which was so much fun cause I hadn’t been able to see or hang out with those guys for a while. Good times.

Nothing I can type would ever put this experience into words. If you know, you know. This was at Cornerstone.. the last Strongarm show. My buddies were up front enjoying the shit out of this, and singing along and making their own memories. I probably remember this more for the crowd experience than anything.

Side note.. I had a press pass and was taking photos like crazy at these C-stone shows and I swear, I’d be walking around the grounds and I kept seeing Brandon Evil everywhere, just passing by or watching me while I was taking pics. Whatever. A couple years later I saw him at an EMI luncheon and it was really awkward cause I had to sit at a table with this weird Christian girl band but he went out of his way to say he recognized me and asked what band I was in… ha! So that fall, the first “This is Solid State” sampler came out and I opened it up and damnit, there’s a pic he took from THIS show and I am IN the picture on the insert taking THESE pictures. If anyone still has a copy of that CD insert, please send it to me.

There can be no justice where there is no truth.
