POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When we sing together, something profound happens — our minds quiet, our breath synchronizes, and our hearts open into a single, unified frequency.

Song of the Earth begins this Friday, October 23–26, at Honey Moon Farm in Grass Valley!

This is our final call for this weekend. If you feel inspired to drop deeper into your voice, community, and sacred connection, there is still a space open for you!

What are we doing here? I’m tryin to figure it out like everyday…through play, through process, through practice, through mistakes, through celebration….and I’m always in complete and udder humility that I don’t have a clue wtf is really going on….the saving grace is that there’s a pen and paper somewhere and an instrument that likes me when I play it no matter how crazy or beautiful. And there are stories to be told……and we get to tell them in this way….maybe that’s important…maybe not. Again, I don’t know, but I do feel comfort and edge at the same time when we get up there and lead a room….and that is what we’re doing here.

When the life becomes life
and we need a moment to reflect
We give ourselves the night
and invite good food and friends
We sing the words that remind us that miracles are sent
Right into the space between the heart and the head

This night, intimate and meaningful, was made possible by our friends opening the home. to gather and sing our songs for and with the community in Monterey California!

At the tail end of a short tour down south where we played music for ceremony, birthday parties, and even facilitated a workshop teaching songwriting, we dropped in with the room and brought up tears, smiles, and reflective insights.

How do we express enough gratitude for the gift to carry these songs and connect with these people? When I contemplate what my purpose is, I always come back to “write songs and sing them…. And always be curious about how I can do that while maintaining an awareness to the people and places around me”

With @missmadeoflight walking the road with me, the music takes on a wild and profound nature, expansive and colorful. Life is lifeing and it’s getting deeper all the time.

Sara Joy Gillbeau (@sarajoy.creates) has been a weaver of lyric and song since childhood. Classically trained in opera and piano, her journey eventually led her to rediscover music as a vehicle for true healing, using vocalization, sacred sound, and vibration as medicine.

She now writes songs from the depths of her being – weaving threads of mantra, devotional harmonies, and medicine music. In addition to sound, she expresses her artistry through traditional fiber arts like felting, spinning, knitting, and weaving, allowing songs to emerge in shared creative circles.

She is also a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a Colon Hydrotherapist, and a Hatha Yoga teacher.

Sophya Ramirez (@almaconvoz) is a Colombian singer-songwriter, master teacher, and vocal guide with over 15 years of experience leading vocal and somatic practices around the world.

Creator of albums like Medicine Woman and Canto a Tierra, her background bridges contemporary jazz, Latin American rhythms, and Indian Classical Raga. Grounded in music as a vessel for self-healing and connection, Sophya creates sacred, immersive containers that help melt tension and cultivate intuitive vocal resonance.

‘Best Part’ @hermusicofficial @danielcaesar - @t.i.n.o.a.t version. Your (my) favorite modern rnb love song but reggae… the lovebirds @missmadeoflight and @colinyouhome crushed on this….

This song comes from the ache in my belly at how those who are most astutely attuned to the cycles and rhythms of life are the ones called “crazy” and deemed “mad” by our society.

I have lost innumerable friends to suicide over the course of my 30 years Earthside and know nearly as many sensitive souls who have been locked away in mental health institutions that usually (but not always) leave them feeling more lost, alone, and ungrounded than when they entered.

My Grandma Berdine~ my dad’s mom who I never met~ was once of those women. She comes to me in ceremony now telling me nahhh she’s not crazy, she’s just like me. So this song is for her and for the wild crazy witch within us all.

It’s for the part in me that wants to hide and shut down the sound of her own voice but chooses to sing because there are those right now in real time that would give anything and have given everything to be able to sing as freely as I can. For them, singing is a risk on their own and their families lives that they courageously take again and again. For me, singing is a privilege that I frequently turn away from out of shame, fear, and not-enoughness.

The song Grandma Berdine, reminds me to keep singing, speaking, shouting, whispering the aliveness inside. It arose from many different wells within me and singing it aloud feels like bearing a deeply buried part of my soul… truth pouring from lips.

In PRIMAL POETIX, we sing, write, speak, dance, and pray from this place. The real-real. The ache. The grit. It’s not about sounding good but it’s also not NOT about sounding good. When we give ourselves fully to the pain, beauty abounds.

DM me PRIMAL to scoop up the early bird rate before doors close 🐺

If you’re here, reading this, you’re probably a lil crazy too 🖤

And may we remember now more than ever that all systems of oppression are intrinsically connected.

xx Anna

Song of the Earth 🌎🎶 Grass Valley, California

We’re inviting you to join us for a 4-day retreat, October 23–26, 2026, exploring the voice as a pathway to healing, creativity, & connection with the living Earth.

Through embodied voice practices, meditation, movement, singing, ceremony, & time in nature, we’ll explore how to open ourselves as channels for the wisdom & energy of the elements, allowing that inspiration to move through us as song.

Together, we’ll create our own songs for –and of– the Earth. Not to perform, but as offerings of gratitude, reverence, & reciprocity with the natural world. 🍃

This is a call to slow down…
listen more deeply…
& awaken the music within.

📍 HoneyMoon Farm • Grass Valley, CA
📅 October 23–26, 2026
✨ Early price through September 22!

Optional Song-Crafting Immersion 🎶 Monday, Oct 26 • a hands-on afternoon of shaping song seeds into compositions, facilitated by @colinyouhome and @missmadeoflight.

‘Want Not’ @victoraxelrod cover live at @crazylikeahorse 8.28.26 feat. @missmadeoflight on vocals.

This song perfectly embodies the theme of @t.i.n.o.a.t … “DESIRE at the root of all MISERY”… recognizing this is the first step to liberation.
