Aki Miwa, founder of Aki Miwa clothing was the featured AANHPI Artist for May with the @kccurrent where his designs are featured at the CPKC stadium! He has been a manager with us for over 3 years and has grown his streetwear line so much! Aki is an immigrant, a new father, a super sports fanatic and baseball is life type homie you always love having around.

His newest collaboration with the Current is stunning, from the details of the traditional Japanese woman wearing soccer cleats, to a callout to Aki’s hometown of Nagoya, the intention and heart Aki pours into his work is admirable. His first professional sports collaboration of many to come! 🚀🤞🏾

Happy birthday to my love @fk_menace.

Forty of your closest friends, loved ones, and colleagues here in Kansas City gathered to give you your flowers, champion you, and celebrate you in this dinner experience.

At your own birthday party, the very first thing you do when walking in: show the whole room the front page of Made Mobb’s newspaper headline — shifting the focus from you to a celebration about the fam, the community, the movement. It was YOUR birthday, and yet you were so proud of your team, it just had to be exclaimed with pride.

That’s who you are.
That is who I love so deeply.
You champion others with incredible pride. You make sure you give others their flowers. You are hella silly, goofy, and vulnerable. You are humble, a quick learner, and keep me safe. Your laugh is infectious and passion for art and music is pretty fucking dope. It’s only one of the many reasons I love you, and continue to learn to love more about you. And why so many others love you too.

Although I am your newest chapter, our stories and paths have crossed truly since I got to Kansas City. Took us a minute, right? Divine timing, the universe, God — we were supposed to keep missing each other until we suddenly, one day, that all changed.

You are such a great man. You care immensely, work incredibly hard, love me patiently and sacrifice a lot for your friends, mentees, and family. I feel like a teenager when I’m around you, and it’s a feeling I haven’t felt ….since then. A feeling of love that is untainted of harm, neglect, or the tragedies of life. Despite where either of us have been, what I admire most about loving you is the peace we seek individually and together. I hope to love you in a way that continues to help, support and brings you a joy that only feels like magic.
