Massive thanks to all those that braved the outrageous rain, wind and stormy 🌊 on Friday here in Hastings!Hopefully it was all worth it! The ‘Second to None’ guest DJ’s (@tony_second_to_none and @waxd.ee aka The Wax Buzzard) delivered an unbelievable session for us. 🫠🔊 — If I’m honest, probably amongst the best DJs I’ve ever heard in my life (that’s a lot!) — with many, many records I’d never heard or seen before!! 🤯 For me, it was a landmark event and was everything that The Get Down attempts to represent. 🔥🤯Smiling faces, sore feet 💃 and beyond killer records. I know the weather, coupled with a temporary shift of venue put off many which was a damn shame for a few reasons. Mike and his team at @thepigvenuehastings 🐷 were incredibly hospitable and the sound 🔊 was outstanding too.
I appreciate it was never going to be quite the same vibe as our intimate basement space at the WhiteRock hotel or at least until we can get a couple 💯 funky folks on a regular. The good news of course is that we are back in our spiritual home on Fri 5th April & will be celebrating our 1 YEAR birthday 🎂 🎉 of this south coast FUNK phenomenon! The Get Down is spoiling you beyond rotten and flying in an extra special guest from Munich, Germany for one night only in the UK!! 🇬🇧 .. Welcoming one of the foremost global authorities on all things FUNK related, DJ Florian Keller!! @floriankeller45 — Please HELP make this a memorable one by sharing the date and event to anyone you think will love the vibe of what we are doing, it really will go a long way! Thanks so much for the support on this 1 year Funk journey so far! 🙏
See you at The Get Down - first Fridays of the month…FOREVER! #thegetdown #funk #funky #funkrelated #deepfunk #soul #latin #funkysoul #breaks #drumsofdeath #gigs #vinylonly #recordnerds #funknight #hastings

Christmas chocolate’s back on the shelves in Iceland and you know what that means...

🎃 Make sure to knock on the Delly’s door when you’re trick or treating this year, myself and some sinister shellers are bound to have something sweet in our sack to rot your teeth with 🎃

Big up @mistaone on the artwork and @breakznbeats on the production once again 🥶

A local born DJ of more than 20 years, starting out as a resident at The Monkey.

A multi-genred appreciation of music has seen Javan play house, disco, electro and breakbeat sets at many festivals and events locally, in London and further afield.

A DJ still pure to his Technics 1210 roots; Javan has an expansive vinyl collection running into the thousands.

A regular at the former Dance Zone at the VEF, this is his 10th appearance at the festival and his first on the Breakz ’n’ Beats stage 🤯🥵

This year, expect to be taken back in time to those dirty-bass-infused broken-beat Baloos nights of around 15 years ago with a 100% vinyl set.

Marmite shot anybody? 🥃

Make sure to come and tune your ears into Javan’s sounds from 15:30 - 16:15 🔊

London Tattoo Convention was one of our favourite shows in the year! We performed on the main stage for over 10 years and enjoyed the challenge of bringing something new each year. Our themes really varied, from superheroes to dark dolls to film stars... and at the last show we went full rock band! 🎸 it was so much fun! The best thing was the audience!!! What a bunch of crazy, colourful, brilliant people!!!! Love you all and we will miss seeing you this year! 🥰
.
It’s sad to see LTC go but we have so many memories and met so many cool people!! 😜
