From our BLM Burr Point backyard, we wandered north along the rim and out to another point for a completely different view of the Dirty Devil River canyon. The canyon is about 1,400 feet deep from the rim where we are set up to the river. The views have the same jaw-dropping scale and layered geology we see at national parks. The Dirty Devil Wilderness Study Area protects about 61,000 acres, and some of its tributary canyons are up to 500 feet deep and more than 10 miles long. #burrpoint #dirtydevilriver #southernutah #canyoncountry #exploreutah

The sunrise scene at Little Egypt Geologic Area was a combination of dramatic, dark, stormy skies, glowing sunlit rocks and a rainbow. 🌈 We followed the formations to the far end, climbed up and out to stunning views, continued across the higher terrain for a short distance, then took another way back down. Little Egypt’s hoodoos are carved from Jurassic-age Entrada Sandstone, the same rock layer found in Goblin Valley, Cathedral Valley, and parts of Arches National Park. Millions of years of weather and erosion created the rounded towers. Iron oxide in the sandstone gives them the red and orange hue. Long ago, while the sandstone was still buried, groundwater moved through the porous rock. In some places that water chemically dissolved or altered the hematite, basically bleaching the sandstone and forming the unique light bands. #littleegypt #southernutah #exploreutah #desertlandscape #sanrafaelswell

New custom Park Twin from @doneksnowboards exceeds expectations! @misterdonek designed this super soft for teaching and mellow freeride. I needed to replace a board from another quality made in America brand. Like a good engineer, Sean needed to objectively quantity the stiffness I desired. I said "if my Flux is a 9, and my Phoenix is a 6, I want a 3" The @bigsnowad demo at Park After Dark a success - easy spins and switch, and gets a nice carve. Excited to schmear it on the soft snow on the sides of the trail, full length switch runs and those excursions into 'not really a trail' 😁 Never giving up my life changing Donek Flux for aggressive carving and superb Donek Sabbath for slaying the east coast hard core!! Watch this space for a comparison of nose and tail presses on these different boards... #donekambassadors #snowboardinstructor #itfinallyfeelslikeiwantittofeel

We have to admit, it was a great day. When @fissnowboardracing asks "hardboots or softboots" and you admit to choosing hardboots on a 20cm powder day because your riding buddy @misterdonek is on his alpine snowboard. #itsjustsnowboarding #doneksnowboards also thanks @ryan_knapton @tipnrip @deeluxeboots @pocsports
