WE’RE BACK!! Joe’s Pub! Nov 19-21!

Back in New York after an acclaimed Edinburgh and London season, Salty Brine transforms Laura Nyro’s dynamic knockout Eli and the Thirteenth Confession into a vaudevillian extravaganza that will make your eyes pop and your jaw drop. The story will be bawdy. The music will be funky. And the jokes will be absolutely tasteless. It’s an Ancient Roman comedy with a twist. Next up from the Living Recored Collection.

Wow to be in residency at LMCC @lmcc_nyc Arts Center on Governors Island for The Mushroom! Normandy @normandyraven and I started workshopping this piece over two summers ago and I still can’t stop dreaming about it. Honestly, it feels like choreography, staging, and movement are so much about wondering, wandering, and pondering until I can jump into rehearsal. Here’s a dorky process video I took of myself doing arm math at FGP @fgpnyc ’s BRB, workshopping at @newgeorges , then our show for last year’s @exponentialfestival . It might be tedious and dull in the beginning but that’s why we need each other. Thank you for giving us a place to dance, LMCC @lmcc_nyc !

What does it take to find the artists theater hasn’t found yet? Our Co-Artistic Directors Anna Morton Stacey and Andrew Neisler sat down with @theatermania to talk about betting on potential over polish and making room for work that doesn’t fit in a box.

A couple of weeks ago my wife planned a surprise party for my 40th. She did an early sneak attack with layers of deceptive stories - all making for a genuinely surprising moment. A rare thing I get to experience! Truly loved it. Thank you to all my friends and family for the best magic I’ve experienced in a while. And to my amazing wife @elizabethdeponto (who has the same birthday as me!) for making it truly special. And honestly for learning how to trick me… 😮🤯♥️

Eco Artist Residency vlog! 🌱🥹 So, this week actually healed me in ways I may never be able to articulate or share in a vlog, but sharing a glimpse anyways. Endless gratitude to @treeofanisa and @misterneisguy of @fgpnyc for facilitating a truly life giving week making art with the land. I left with a new understanding of what art making can mean and what reciprocity actually looks/feels like. And a lot of new friends. There is time 💚

Shoutout to my collaborator and dear friend @corryjethridge for dancing with me down every literal and metaphorical path 🫶🏼

These clowns let me help them make costumes for a play they wrote that I love very much, and I know you’ll love too. Go see the Rodeo @arsnovanyc @xhloeandnatasha are the real deal.

6:00pm: Inti, 820 10th Ave.
Start out at this quiet yet very good Peruvian spot in Hell's Kitchen. It's affordable, filling, and perfect for a group as you get ready to head to the show!

7:30pm: And Then The Rodeo Burned Down, Ars Nova, 511 W 54th St.
Then catch the Off-Broadway debut of the Edinburgh-fringe darling-duo, Xhloe and Natasha, in their award-winning And Then The Rodeo Burned Down. The rodeo is the best place in the world. Why would anybody burn it down? Dale, a rodeo clown with a big dream (and a mischievous shadow), certainly wouldn’t. After all, Dale wants to be a cowboy. So, if we’re going to find out who burned the rodeo down, we'll have to finish the play. And now there’s fire involved? That sounds expensive.
Physical, brutal, ruthlessly funny, and weirdly tender, And Then The Rodeo Burned Down, from three-time Edinburgh Fringe First Award winners Xhloe and Natasha, is a rowdy, lightning-fast story of ambition, heartbreak, and the cost of pursuing the thing you love. Fake cigarettes, real fire.

9:00pm: Hudson Vu Rooftop, 653 11th Ave.
After the show, head to Hudson Vu Rooftop for, you guessed it, an incredible Vu of the Hudson! This is the perfect post-show summer spot to grab a drink in the area!

(And Then The Rodeo Burned Down runs from 5/19-6/18 at Ars Nova in Hell's Kitchen - grab your tickets now!)

In our first meeting about AND THEN THE RODEO BURNED DOWN, @xhloeandnatasha asked if they could rearrange our chairs. So we let them.

For over two decades, Ars Nova has been a home for artists with big dreams to take big swings. Today, we’re making sure that never stops.

We’re launching the Big Dreams, Big Swings Campaign — a $5M effort to build Ars Nova’s next chapter and support the next generation of emerging artists. We’re already halfway there, thanks to a $1M leadership gift from the Miranda Family Fund.

Now we need you. Every gift — at every level — keeps the doors open for the artists who need them most.
