This next chapter of Cold Nips being a registered health promotion charity is a BIG ONE!

Who knew a silly little *DIP* group, with a name like COLD NIPS ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ˜‚ could become a charity that sits at the intersection of some of Australiaโ€™s biggest health issues.

We believe deeply in the spaces we create and have seen what they can do first hand.

People getting together regularly.
Out in nature.
Moving their bodies.
Jumping in the ocean.
Saying gโ€™day to a strangers, friends alike, and maybe even a hug.
And having chats over coffee.

This last seven years has been a big splash and we intend to make a bigger one as we move into our 8th summer season.

SPRING SEASON DETAILS:

๐Ÿ“Leighton Beach, @theorangeboxcafe
โฐ 6AM MEET
๐Ÿณ 6:15AM OCEAN DIP
โ˜•๏ธ BREWS AND CHATS AFTERWARDS

We will follow this pattern until our summer launch, likely in November ๐Ÿซก ๐Ÿš€

Rolling down a hill on a skateboard and shooting at an aperture of f1.2 was a challenge. But luckily the @dji_ronin RS4 Mini helps keen everything stable and in frame!

My two tips for nailing this kind of shot:

1. You can half press the record button on the gimbal to lock focus. I did this every time I passed a moving object so my camera didnโ€™t autofocus on the bush.
2. To activate the tracking module, you can single press the trigger on the front of the gimbal. Instead of using it for the entire shot, I activated it right at the end of the video when the runner was behind me, so I could focus on looking forwards.

Camera: Sony A7S3
Lens: Sony 50mm f1.2
Gimbal: DJI RS4 Mini

of course I believe in true love; it's everywhere โ€

{sometimes I forget this account largely exists as a gratitude journal for the life I lead... and such a fortunate compilation is long overdue}

you see, I've been consciously adjusting the scaffolding of my soul lately. I believe life is a mirror, always, and it recently reflected back where I hadn't yet cultivated a certain level of peace that I craved, but just couldn't hold.

though the thing about building anything of real value (in my opinion) is that it's never done alone, nor is it done at speed... and goodness me do I have one incredible team of builders by my side โ€

don't get me wrong, I'm learning to include myself in the rolling credits of this fortification - but without the generosity, patience, kindness & ultimately: love of the people I'm so fortunate to be surrounded by... I'm not sure my smile would feel so bright. I'm one very lucky human indeed - thank you <3

And stay with me for a moment (to all of my non-spiritual folk - if you're not a fan of woo-woo / metaphors, just leave now lol)... but I've found that soul-work also requires tools only acquired through a great deal of surrender & stillness - one I choose to fill with gratitude, meditation & prayer (to who/what is always up to you & literally no one else's business ๐Ÿซฐ). It's something that's been powerful in understanding where I put bandaids on bullet-holes and wondered why I was still bleeding.

Stillness can be the investment in a larger tool-belt, but in order to receive the tools needed for that scaffolding, you have to turn your palms upward. Whether those tools were shown by one of my beautiful friends, or through something I can't see, the source is almost redundant if we can't hold it. And the trust needed to be open to them? That's the act of surrender.

So, as my tool-belt expands, and I understand part of the method to an even greater one... it leaves me excited at the knowing how it makes me a better builder in the scaffolding of others.

Because truthfully, that's the whole point right? Grow for ourselves, so we can grow for others, and hopefully do this dance forever. e x
