Together again for the first time since 2005 at The Pegu Club NYC Jim Meehan and Toby Maloney will be at The Elbow Room in Vancouver WA.
They will be signing a combined FIVE books. Jim will be signing @thebartenderspantry , The PDT cocktail Book, and Meehan’s Bartender Manual, and Toby his two.

Currently working to get this place open sooner rather than later, and thinking about this moment almost 20 years ago—the transformations everyone in this picture has gone through, and the people who are no longer with us. Y’all are dope.

I’ll always love that Sasha intentionally refused to take pictures of himself. He once explained to me why. I won’t repeat it. He did have amazing opinions on my choice of wearing pink. He did love my mustache though. It was epic.

That being said… I think this picture is from 2006, which means it only took me exactly 20 years to get back home. Feeling all the blessings and gratitude to everyone here.

Let’s see if me and @pablo_candela can make this happen in three weeks.

Sidenote: Sam Ross is in this picture, but he’s so short you can’t see him. Which is weird because he had hair back then.

Sorry, Sammy. I’m a horrible friend.

We're not talking about a short-sighted feline, but slang for a very specific type of speakeasy that operated during Prohibition.

Guests paid an entrance fee under the pretense of viewing an exotic animal. That fee was, in fact, the cover charge for a drink in an illegal bar.

A century later, "secret" bars have been opening around the world, from London and Munich to the Bahamas.

But with Prohibition a thing of the past, what is the point of a speakeasy in 2026?

Hemos llegado al sexto círculo del Infierno. Estamos tras los muros de la ciudad de Dite y aquí solo vemos almas herejes ardiendo en un fuego eterno en sepulcros o en hogueras, mientras que son castigadas por multitud de diablos.

Hemos querido representar la Herejía como el hecho de ir a un cocktail bar y pedirte una cerveza. Por eso este cocktail es un “trampantojo” del Beer & Shot, para todos los herejes que sólo bebéis cerveza.
