Camp Lady Shred goes to the Caribbean, also known as Michigan!

My favorite summer tradition started 10 years ago, when I was one of 15 women, connected by our jobs in the ski industry, who gathered for a weekend on Vashon Island. We went rollerblading, laughed at dirty jokes, and held Gelande Quaffing practice. We talked about our careers, our families, our relationships, our ambitions, and our fears. We had such big dreams and so much belief. I left feeling good about the future of women in skiing and, really, the world.

In the decade since, we’ve gathered (mostly) every summer to do more of the same. Our careers, our bodies, and the places we call home have all changed over that time. (I think most of us have retired from competitive ski-town drinking games.) The whole world is different now and some days it feels worse. But we have all gotten cooler and grown wiser, and so many of those early dreams have come true. Businesses, babies, and love have all been lost and found many times over. We are still skiers. We are all still here, which is the true gift. We still have big dreams, new dreams, and so much hope.

Because of these women, I still feel good about the future of the world.

Viva la México 🇲🇽

Halfway through and the stories are already stacking up.

Twisted ankle. Flat tire. Locked keys in the car. Super Bowl at Campo Archelon. Hidden ranch deep on narco trails. Lost phone. Taco and michelada counts that probably shouldn’t be tracked.
You can’t script this kind of trip.

We’re not home yet — still rolling, still soaking it in, still chasing Baja skies. Grateful for this crew and everything this peninsula keeps throwing at us.

Let’s keep it going. 🔥
