Some of the most powerful lessons about money are the ones we learned before we knew they were lessons.

I don’t necessarily mean learning how to count it, save it, or spend it.

I mean learning how to feel about it.

One of the beautiful things about getting older is having the opportunity to revisit our childhood with a completely different perspective.

Things that seemed so ordinary back then can reveal themselves as some of our greatest lessons.

I think about my grandfather and those afternoons on the golf course, and I realize how much of the woman I became was already taking shape.

The creativity. The curiosity. The willingness to try something.

It’s amazing how easily we can forget those early examples of what’s possible when life starts handing us reasons to doubt.

Maybe part of creating a healthier relationship with money isn’t just about unlearning the difficult stuff.

Maybe it’s also about remembering the good stuff.

The people who believed in us before we knew how to believe in ourselves.

There is wisdom in remembering where our confidence began. ❤️

I used to think making an impact meant doing something BIG.

Build something big.
Achieve something big.
Reach a lot of people.
Leave some enormous mark on the world.

I don’t believe that anymore.

I think some of the most significant things we will ever do may never be seen by more than one other person.

The text you send because someone crossed your mind.
✨ Remembering her birthday.
✨ Sitting beside someone who is hurting without trying to fix her.
✨ Telling your child, “I’m proud of you.”
✨ Giving someone your FULL attention.
✨ Celebrating another woman’s win without wondering what it means for yours.
✨ Calling your mom.
✨ Forgiving.
✨ Listening.
✨ Noticing.

Sometimes love looks incredibly ordinary.

And maybe that’s exactly why we underestimate its power.

I want to build a meaningful company. Of course I do.

I have BIG dreams for Then, There, Now.

But more than success, I want significance.

And I’m becoming increasingly convinced that significance isn’t measured by how many people know your name.

It’s measured by how people feel because you knew theirs.

Ohhhh...THAT.

Because someday, when all the titles, accomplishments, followers, money and STUFF are stripped away, I don’t think we’ll wish we had loved less.

I think we’ll wish we had loved even bigger.

So today...
Do the small thing.
Make the call.
Send the note.
Give the hug.
Say the words.

You never know when your seemingly tiny act of love becomes something another human being remembers forever.

Small doesn’t mean insignificant.

Especially when love is inside it.

Pressure can make us forget the very reason we started.

I saw this play out over and over again during my years in business.

Some of the most meaningful breakthroughs I witnessed had very little to do with a new sales strategy.

They happened when women rediscovered why they started in the first place.

Their excitement returned.
Their creativity returned.
Their confidence in what they had to offer returned.

And their relationships with their customers became more authentic.

Now, don’t misunderstand me.

Businesses need revenue. We need to understand our numbers, set goals, and be compensated for our work.

I’m all for making money, people! 😂

But I also believe there’s an enormous difference between building a business from a place of genuine purpose and allowing the pressure of the next paycheck to become your entire purpose.

One creates connection.

The other can turn every conversation into an opportunity to get something.

And people deserve better than that.

So do we.

Whether you’re building a business, leading a team, or starting something completely new, remember what you came here to give, not just what you’re hoping to get. ❤️

🎙️ I explore this and so much more in Episode 4 of Unfinished Conversations.

A beautiful life can still become a place you feel stuck.

In a job. A relationship. A situation that no longer feels aligned with who you are.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between making money and having a healthy relationship with money.

Because they’re not necessarily the same thing.

You can earn a wonderful income and still feel trapped.

You can be incredibly successful and still be afraid to make a change.

And you can spend years building a beautiful life, only to realize you’ve never given yourself permission to consider whether it’s still the life you want.

I’ve been there.

One of the greatest lessons of this chapter of my life is that success isn’t simply about what we’re able to build.

It’s also about having the ability to choose what we no longer want to carry.

I want that for every woman.

Not necessarily millions in the bank. Not necessarily an empire.

But options.

The ability to say yes because you want to. And no because you can.

Financial empowerment isn’t just about money. It’s about having a voice in the direction of your own life.

And that is a freedom worth creating. ❤️

Plot twist:

Maybe it wasn’t falling apart.

Maybe it was making room.

And maybe someday you’ll look back and thank God it didn’t go according to plan. 🤍

What if your relationship with money is telling a much bigger story about your life? 💰

🎙️ EPISODE 4 OF UNFINISHED CONVERSATIONS IS LIVE! Comment BINGO for the full episode.

“That Wasn’t on the Bingo Card!”
What’s Your Unfinished Conversation With Money?

Ohhhh…we went THERE! 😂

From our earliest memories of money to the beliefs we inherited and the stories we’re STILL carrying.

We explored the SHADOW SIDE of money.

What happens when abundance becomes avoidance?

When “God will provide” becomes a reason not to pay attention?

When creating a beautiful life becomes easier than understanding the financial foundation beneath it?

Ooooof. 😬

And here’s something I believe with my WHOLE heart…

Financial empowerment is at the heart of female empowerment.

Having your OWN money isn’t selfish.
It isn’t disloyal.
And it isn’t about expecting the worst.

It’s about FREEDOM.

The freedom to make choices that are BEST for you and the people you love.

The freedom to navigate Plan B when life throws something at you that DEFINITELY wasn’t on your bingo card!

And PLEASE…don’t wait until you NEED financial independence to begin creating it.

We talked about faith, fear, worthiness, responsibility, and why money is NEVER just about money.

And yes…there’s STILL no luggage on the hearse, people! 😂

But maybe we should know what’s in the bank before packing for the trip!

Now I want to hear from YOU!

What’s the first thing you remember learning about money?

And what belief about money are you ready to question or let go of?

Let’s keep this conversation going! ❤️

I think we’d both have a lot of questions. 😂

She’d want to know how we got here.

And I’d want to remind her of all the things I’ve forgotten about the woman I was then.

We’d probably disagree on a few things. 😉
We’d definitely surprise each other.

But I think eventually we’d realize that neither one of us has it all figured out.

We’re simply two versions of the same woman doing the best we can with what we know at the time.

And somewhere between 2016 and 2026, I’ve learned to trust that God knows what He’s doing, even when I don’t.

Maybe that’s what growing older really gives us.

Not all the answers.

Just a little more faith in the unfolding.

What if even our BEST beliefs about money have a shadow side?

I’ve always considered myself to have an abundant mindset.

I believe there will be more.
I believe things have a way of working out.
I believe God provides.
And I definitely believe there is NO luggage on the hearse. 😂

Those beliefs have served me really well.

But lately I’ve been asking myself a different question…

What happens when abundance becomes avoidance?

When “it will all work out” becomes a reason not to look too closely?

When faith replaces responsibility instead of working alongside it?

When enjoying money becomes easier than understanding it?

Ooooof. 😬

Because here’s the thing…

I’ve been broke.
I’ve been wealthy.
I’ve made a LOT of money.
And I’ve also made some pretty terrible decisions with it.

I am still learning what financial empowerment actually means.

And maybe THAT is the conversation.

Not scarcity or abundance.
Not fear or faith.
Not saving every penny or “you can’t take it with you.”

Maybe maturity is learning to hold BOTH.

To enjoy money AND respect it.
To trust AND pay attention.
To believe there will be more AND take responsibility for what’s already in our hands.

Because every money story has a shadow.

And sometimes the beliefs that have carried us the farthest are the very ones worth looking at again.

What if your relationship with money is really a reflection of what you trust?

Oooof. This one got me.

For a very long time, I knew how to measure success by numbers.

Revenue. Rank. Growth. Goals. Results.

And hear me clearly: I don’t believe there is anything wrong with wanting to make money. I believe women SHOULD be financially empowered. I believe we can create wealth, build wildly successful businesses, AND do an incredible amount of good with both.

But I’m learning there’s a difference between having money and needing money to make me feel safe.

There’s a difference between pursuing success and allowing success to determine my worth.

And there’s a BIG difference between asking God to bless the plan I created...and being willing to follow the one He has for me.

Maybe abundance isn’t about choosing between profit OR purpose.

Maybe it’s about putting them in the right order.

Serve first.
Impact first.
Alignment first.
God first.

And then ALLOW the abundance that comes from building something you actually believe in.

That is a relationship with money I want to keep remembering.

Have you ever walked away from a conversation feeling LESS certain about something you were completely sure of before?

It’s fascinating how that happens, isn’t it?

Someone we love, trust, or respect offers their perspective, and suddenly we’re questioning everything.

Was I wrong?
Am I being selfish?
Who do I think I am?
What if they’re right?

And just like that, an old insecurity we thought we’d outgrown is sitting in the driver’s seat. AGAIN. 😂

Here’s what I’ve been thinking about...

Not every opinion that makes us uncomfortable is wrong. And not every opinion that makes us uncomfortable is RIGHT.

That’s where discernment comes in.

Sometimes the discomfort is an invitation to grow. To see something about ourselves we haven’t been willing to see.

And sometimes it’s simply an old wound asking to be acknowledged.

Learning to recognize the difference is part of learning to trust ourselves.

We can love people, respect their experiences, and appreciate their wisdom without allowing their perspective to become our identity.

Because the goal isn’t to live a life where nobody questions us.

It’s to become so connected to who we are that we can be questioned without losing ourselves.

THAT is a conversation worth having. ❤️

Sometimes the people who love us most are trying to protect us from something that was never ours to fear.

Their experience is real.
Their concern may be genuine.
Their advice may even come from love.

But their story is still THEIR story.

Listen to wise counsel. Stay open to the people who can see a blind spot you can’t see for yourself.

But don’t confuse someone else’s fear with your truth.

You can listen without surrendering your knowing.
You can consider their perspective without making it your identity.
You can love them without living their life.

At some point, you have to trust yourself enough to write your own story. ❤️
